AFAIK can't submit songs that already are released
Sandstorm is the only song of his i've heard but compared to they sort of feel like they're missing a memorable, catchy part.
Not really feeling these; Superman's prolly the best, but still pretty generic.
Every one of those songs has your basic quarter-note beat, followed by a flowing stop, then a "snare" speeding up into the beat again.
I wish I understood this type of music, but man, I just don't get it. What's so special about it that it could be included in/possibly win some big music competition?
This is the same big music competition that features Russian grandmothers doing some baking, a UK entry with dastardly euphemisms like "Would you like something to suck on before landing, sir?", and a winner whose name, in slang, was 'Vagina Penis'. Oh, and that Ukrainian entry where the human embodiment of a vajazzled roll of thin foil came to life and ran around the stage singing absolute drivel. You'll probably miss out on points for taking it super seriously, so a good middle-ground is "go cliche, and be semi-attractive."
So it's like American Idol mixed with America's Got Talent (I'm from the US, gimme a break). Got it.
Thanks for the explanation, broseph.
That’s a very American comparison
I also think the singing leaves something to be desired, the singer pronounces C’s really hard, the first “supermääääääään” part sounds bad, and he sounds like an old man at “when I need a heEroOoo, you’ll be my heRroOo”
I did like how this part brings together the superman metaphor:
When you’re around I’m above all the clouds
You don’t let me down
Tho’ now the thought of being held above the clouds against your will ruined it for me lol
