The Liberal Democrats are worried about a potential exodus of financial backers, after a number of donors withdrew their support to get behind the new anti-Brexit Independent Group of MPs.
Title would have made me think people were fearful of the Lib Dems, if such a thing weren't so implausible
No idea how TIG is going to pan out but they seem to already have had a major impact

lib dem really lost favour when nick clegg screwed them over. may as well dissolve and start a new centre order.
Sorry about it, and was trying to figuring out if the word "Fearing" would still fit or not. So instead I just add word "feared" because it happen hours ago.
No problem, the English language is dumb. I think 'fearful' is the word you were looking for, but 'worried' or 'scared' would also have worked
at least the lib Dems actually have policy other than "Brexit is bad"
I don't think that was the case, personally. It was under Nick Clegg that we saw the Lib Dems remain a relatively strong 3rd party, albeit weakened by the sacrifices he had to make whilst part of the coalition - one shining example being tuition fees. Come the next election, Conservatives want a majority, so instead of pumping focus into Labour strongholds, tactical voting swarmed Lib Dem constituencies.
It then really proceeded to go downhill under Tim Farron, who was always weighed down by his refusal to comment on homosexuality. And now you've got Vince Cable who barely even tries to keep the party relevant; he's resigning as leader soon (so he says), so you then have to wonder who the hell will lead next. Nick Clegg had many flaws, and he scampered off to earn money in Europe, but I wouldn't blame him for the fall of the Lib Dems. The Lib Dems were a hurdle for the Tories, and Clegg had made them a particularly threatening hurdle. It was inevitable that the Tories would focus on their constituencies.
I still find it confusing how the Lib dems biggest crime was to not reign in the tories.
Ergo lets vote tory.
