The prime minister said she will put her withdrawal agreement - including any changes she has agreed with the EU - to a meaningful vote by 12 March.
If that fails, MPs will be offered two separate votes:
One, on the following day, on whether MPs support a no-deal Brexit - so the UK would "only leave without a deal on 29 March if there is explicit consent in the House for that outcome"
If that fails, then MPs will get a vote by 14 March on requesting an extension to the two-year Article 50 negotiation process to delay EU withdrawal beyond 29 March
Just because she keeps asking doesn't mean they'll change their answer.
Prediction: We get an extension and we'll still end up having no deal because it'll be the last resort, as very few Tories will stand against their party & with Labour / Lib Dems to support a second referendum.
DexEU just published its no deal Brexit impact assessment, which says that panic buying could lead to food shortages and concludes:
Government has been accelerating its preparations for a no deal scenario since September, with a particular emphasis since December 2018. However, the short time remaining before 29 March 2019 does not allow Government to unilaterally mitigate the effects of no deal. Even where it can take unilateral action, the lack of preparation by businesses and individuals is likely to add to the disruption
experienced in a no deal scenario.
Can we just cancel Brexit already? It's been a shitshow from the start, and whatever the outcome ends up being, it's going to leave us so much worse off than being in the EU.
I work in underwriting for a travel insurer and we're literally getting asked everyday what the fuck is going to happen and our official response is "we know as much as you please stop asking".
My prediction: No-deal Brexit happens via inaction/inability to follow simple instructions on an institutional governance level, and after a week or three shit will be so fucked >65% of the country will poll in favour of asking the EU to Ctrl+Z Brexit immediately and reset as if it never happened.
And then the EU will look down at the ashen faces on that burning island and say, "No."
