https://twitter.com/THQNordic/status/1100449137294786561 So uh yeah? I thought 8ch was reviled by pretty much everyone at this point but I guess not
What did 8chan do that has everyone on my timeline flipping out over this?
No Mystery of the Druids 2. It is a dark day.
8chan is where you go when you feel the rules on 4chan are too restrictive

resetera are having a brain aneurysm from it and its hilarious. 8chan is fucking awful in all regards but the reaction from the equally bad shitters is hilarious. my favourite complaint is the "8chan had childporn!" and them choosing to forget that NeoGaf and ResetERA members were accused of child molestation and pedophilia themselves
What a dumb way to kill your PR career lol
Resetera is a fucking pimple on the ass of the gaming community and I hate how relevant they are.
Especially since the guy who wrote that whole piece about 8chan having CP was found out to have posted the CP on there himself just to "prove" his point. I mean, let's be clear, 8chan isn't exactly the gold standard of online communities, but if you have to falsify evidence to get people to believe that it's the deepest pit of satan's asshole, it probably actually isn't.
Oh this is delicious on many levels
One of them actually replied to a Neon Evangelion waifu fight. They're talking about Summoner a lot too. Hmmmmm.
8ch is just reddit but in chan style, reddit can be just as terrible. r/donald and /pol
I just find it idiotic, absolutely idiotic that game developers aren't allowed to do certain things in public because they are controversial, I don't like to use the words PC or SJW because the people that use it are generally morons, but in general I feel this thing a lot of the industry does of getting angry over dumb things quickly. I don't know what to do anymore, I don't want to be a game developer if I have to deal with things like this. Look at this image, it's weird yes, but do you see anything wrong with it? I don't. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58146/a5237c67-429e-417b-98ee-2fc505c1a231/imatge.png

Weirdest thing I see her is a button that just says "cancer"
It just sends you to a board called chemo, idk what it is.

I... don't see a problem. Sure, 8chan is a hive of scum and villainy, but compared to what? Resetera? Reddit AMAs? At least this way we get to see questions lobbed at them minus the usual "approval process" which silently discards anything which would be difficult and/or inconvenient to answer. (And yes, "Who is best waifu" counts as both)
Hot take: This was all some sort of cry for help. Indicative of turmoil happening in company.
I mean, there is this. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107127/53889ffb-d24a-4ef1-9c75-056d8c0e846f/image.png And before a massive ten-page shitfest about the ethics of loli/shota and whether or not it needs to be outlawed that ends up with three people being banned breaks out, I'm not trying to start that debate. What I'm trying to point out is that a video game company that last year had 31,662,043 USD as it's net revenue, this highly revered game publisher, is even pondering the idea of getting near any of the -chan sites, for anything even remotely official. That's like trying to take a bath in the fucking radioactive waters near Chernobyl. Only bad things can come of it, and it's almost impossible that anything productive is going to come from this.
I honestly think holding it on 4chan would have gone over better than fucking 8chan, for when 4chan isn't edgy enough for you. This is not a good look.
Didn't Yoko Taro also do an interview on 8ch? Besides. I'd rather THQ do an AMA on 8ch than Reddit. I'd rather deal with the rampant shitposting than the echo-chamber where people get banned if they aren't absolutely ass-kissing the developers.
This is hilarious. As baffingly stupid as this is I also kinda respect it. I mean looking past the normal shitposting, you got people asking good questions regarding timesplitters, destroy all humans, and darksiders. People are definitely gonna be talking about THQNordic for awhile now.
even if a chan ama went perfectly the guys at resetera would still find something to throw a tantrum over
Associating your brand with 8chan is an objectively dumb idea. There's no good reason to not do a reddit or twitter AMA instead. It's only gonna go well in very specific online circles, and very badly with your average normie. Maybe to you it's funny, but even ignoring online sjw/antisjw/antiantisjw circlejerk, this objectively hurt the THQ brand.
you'll generally only get to see questions that people like and aren't controversial if you do it on reddit

I doubt that's always the case. And is the answer is to do it on 8chan then, where the worst of the internet goes because nobody wants them? That's a really awful logic. As a PR guy his entire job is to make sure to make the brand looks good with the most people, and that means not getting it involved in controversial shit. An 8ch AMA is objectively one of the best way to not do that.
The people freaking out about this is the best part of all of this tbh. At the end of the day, all they're doing is having more people talk about the company, and even if there are complaints, it's gonna turn some heads in the long run. This won't do anything bad to them, I think. Especially when you have other things going on in the industry that's actually worse, or more topical. Like Anthem
I'm obviously getting old because I literally don't understand what is or isn't wrong with this image - haven't browsed the chans since around 2004-2005.
