Heya! I figured someone might be interested in watching paint dry- err.. PLA extrude. http://boatplugs.xyz:8080
Interesting.
What are you making?
A Monster Hunter Tigrex figurine. You'll notice the flat tall sections, those are the supports that this print needs so it's not a puddle.
Oh it's printing something new now. You should post pictures in the thread, I didn't get to see it completed
Will do! Cleaning off the supports at the moment.
My b! I accidentally broke the tail and leg while cleaning this one up. I printed this one a little too thin :/ https://i.imgur.com/CDbndJF.jpg
Is that a penis youtube buddy you have there in the background?
Yeah probably!
Gotta be honest, you've got some gangly looking fingers.
Skeleton IRL
Bitdefender thinks your site is a phishing attempt. This is really oddly hypnotizing, though.
That's probably because it has no SSL cert, soz. It really is. I could seriously watch this thing all day long.
Printed a mount for the camera, now it's fixed to the bed and you won't have to watch it slide back and forth Hopefully this should give me good results on the timelapse capture!

That's why you get a buildplate that costs almost as much as your printer. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109818/17b2f53b-807e-4597-96a2-09901392b578/chrome_2019-03-02_20-03-01.png Should arrive next week probably... I'm still getting over that total amount.
eep! I opted for a 30$ boro-silicate glass plate. I'm trying not to use weird adhesion tricks like hairspray and glue or whatever else some people concoct. Apparently if you have everything dialed in right then you shouldn't have issues with prints sticking. I think the actual bed temp isn't read correctly because layers so an offset of 10c seems to keep things together, that and some minor skirts. So far I've only put about 260$ into the printer itself, I'm trying to keep costs as low as possible and considering the current print quality is really good I'm already impressed.
I haven't had any bed adhesion issues with PLA and PETG, even though I've abused the surface all to shit. I only just got the printer like, 8 weeks ago, but I've already done goofed the surface since it's my first printer. But at least it's the stock cheap surface from the manufacturer. I also ordered a BLTouch that should be arriving next week, so I'll get the bed leveling working first to make sure the nozzle can't ever ram into the surface, and then install the Buildtak. I don't mind spending a bit of money on not having to worry about the printer or print quality, especially since I only paid 170€ for it (Ender 3, Gearbest had a deal on them in December).
It's such an incredible printer and for the price I'll deal with all of the fiddly bits and minor issues. I kinda like tweaking and messing with this stuff anyway, the most fun IMO is printing mods for your printer. I was looking into the BLTouch for auto-bed leveling but I don't think it's worth it unless you don't want to spend time leveling the bed, which doesn't bother me too much. One of the reasons I went with a glass plate is for the consistent level across the bed. With the stock fiberglass pad the minor warping on the heated metal portion would cause leveling issues in the center. With a glass bed the minor warping isn't an issue, if I get the corners level then I know that the center will always be level. I'll probably put more money into it later and get the parts for a homemade EZABL but right now I just want to print stuff with fun filaments.
I have a request: Postalface.stl
Hah! It's coming up next This current print should be done in about 20 minutes. I need get the print stats showing on the camera page...

Thanks for the suggestion!

Printed a mount for an endoscope cam, I've gotta make some tweaks to it but enjoy the close up 'action' in the mean-time.
