It was announced at E3 last year, this is just the first reveal of anything.
Can't help but feel sceptical about this game still. Respawn have a good track record, but EA's usual bullshit and the failure of their other attempt at a single player SW game are making me nervous about how it'll turn out.
It's a single player only game FYI, and you play as a Jedi padawan that escaped Order 66. There are hints towards the game's story in the most recent Darth Vader comic series.
I mean if it sucks then maybe EA's Star Wars license will get pulled, I think this game is probably the only reason it hasn't yet.
if the gameplay is even half as creative as titanfall 2's campaign mode then i'll at least try it out
Iirc, isn't this game supposed to be a 3rd person action game? Not like Uncharted (RIP Visceral's Star Wars game), but still, something different than Respawn's usual wheelbase of rock solid and tight FPS games. I mean, if there's one developer I trust under EA's umbrella, it's Respawn, but there's still some worry I have over this. Especially since yeah, Respawn seems like the only studio that is propping up EA right now. Not to mention that on top of this game, AND Apex Legends, they have yet another Titanfall spin off planned for this year. I also have to wonder if this game is being made in Respawn's modified Source Engine still, or if they made the jump to Frostbyte like every other EA studio for this game. Guessing probably Frostbyte.
please be good please be good please be good
It's EA..... but it's also Respawn so I do have some hopes for it.
I'm surprised they stuck with the name Jedi Fallen Order. Whenever that influencer had that awkward talk with Vince Zampella at E3 last year, it seemed like he just came up with that name on the spot. Hopefully they don't rush this out.

Respawn has yet to make a bad game, and the lack of bullshit in their games makes me think EA takes a hands-off approach with them knowing they'll all just walk out on them like they did with Activision if they try to scum things up
I wouldn't say that entirely considering it straight up costs money for a few of the characters in Apex; not a bad game but that smells of EA's gnarled fingers.
Can't you buy them with Legend Tokens? I've only played like 6 hours and I thought I had more than enough to buy both the locked characters. Granted, that equation's probably gonna' change as more characters get released. You're not wrong though, pretty sure you can buy them with cash, seems like it's the League model of 'grind or pay up for characters'.
Each Legend currently costs 12k, which you should hit by like level 24 I believe. It's quite the grind and currently there's no way to earn legend tokens outside of level rewards. You're not forced to pay up real money (though Respawn deserve support for managing to get good quality games out in spite of their position). But as more legends are released they may need to introduced other ways to earn tokens. Because otherwise it's going to get nasty, fast.
I think that's fair, it being a F2P game.
They claim EA had very little to do with Apex.
