i'm curious because i just had this conversation with someone -
even though johnathan pie is a ficticious news reporter, is his news still credible/accurate?
this is supposed to be his satire work but it never comes off as satire and rather very angry, serious reporting on current events. even if he's playing up his emotion you can tell he genuenly feels it.
I'm pretty sure most of what he says is credible; satire is exposing the absolute ridiculousness of what's going on. I don't think he'd be doing pretty good if he was just making shit up, he genuinely wants to see some change but doing it through his outraged and over the top character. I can't find it, but there was a poll posted here a while back that people who watched these late night comedy satire shows on the whole were more accurately up to date with current affairs than most media channels, and especially ones like Fox News. Trying to google it, but obviously I'm not using the correct keywords.
