Toby also did the cover for Famitsu. Imagine being the graphics designer and layout artist for Famitsu and you hear that Toby Fox is going to get featured in the next issue and that he'll be drawing the cover. You prepare for the next cover, you have all the preset text and the headlines ready, you're just waiting for Toby to send you his thing. And he sends you this. https://preview.redd.it/bmp94g6tixi21.jpg?width=581&auto=webp&s=1b5f413c34b8144391dfd77f1d1b68c606bb5c70
God Bless America
I was actually surprised that recently, Groove Coaster (which is the only mobile game I really play regularly) got an Undertale pack. I'd buy it if it wasn't so expensive (5€ for 4 songs). I really do dig how close to the original artstyle the levels are, and I don't even like Undertale. https://youtu.be/SG7EDB3GwJ8?t=19 Seems Undertale is suddenly popular in Japan?
It got really popular when it got released on consoles with a Japanese translation
It got a Japanese release in August 2017 and a Switch port September last year.
Definitely not the first Western game to make a splash but it must be bizarre for Japanese players to play something like Undertale that clearly has inspirations/roots in earlier Japanese RPGs and then find out that it's made by a dude from Boston.
