(will update with youtube version)
Look at that big chubby lad.
okay, yes please
Now that was waaay fucking better then the first trailer. why wasn't this shown first?!
I can't say i'm looking forward to this even after this trailer, i still don't understand why they wanted to reboot it especially like this.
All the dialogue we've seen so far has shown most characters saying really "Badass" lines in the worst way possible, like they almost come off as trying to hard in a really off-putting way.
I usually really like David Harbour but considering he's going to be on screen constantly his portrayal of Hellboy seems incredibly weak i don't know if it's because of the heavy layer of makeup but he just looks completely emotionless and the get-up generally doesn't look good with the beady little eyes and cheap looking glue on hair.
Just isn't cutting it compared to the older series which had really nice gorgeous props and suits for every character involved, this just seems kinda lifeless compared.
That's my two-cents atleast, i get it people might be excited about this and i hope it lives up to what they want.
But to me it's just monkeying off other recent popular superhero movies, and killed off a way better series for it considering Ron Perlman really wanted to do the third movie.
Honestly this trailer is meant to be the hype trailer/bring them to the show floor, i'm sold on it. I'm gonna wait to judge David's performance when i see it, cause i can tell you can't really tell or feel how it's gonna be from jump cuts of his dialogue to match the hype tone the trailer wants to envoke on the audience. Though from the brief glimpses, i think his gonna do just fine in the role.
As for the comparisons, i'm probably just gonna throw those out the window as they are going more of the style of the comic book and tone then del toro's vision. IMO they've nailed it so far plus with neil running things behind the camera, there is some really awesome imagery in this trailer. (Hellboy in hellish landscape or the shot with the blood queen in the forest of monsters)
Damn shame though del toro didn't get to finish off his trilogy, but wasn't he asking for a lot of budget money for the third film and the second flopped or something.
Can't remember all that happened there with that.
I want to like this
I would like to like this
Do I like this?
Maybe I like this...
Maybe.
An epic, biblically apocalyptic orchestral version of Smoke on the Water was probably the last thing I would've expected. Impressive.
Smoke in the water adaptation in the background is kinda weird.
I long for the day when we get an animated movie with the original mike Magnola aesthetic. I love the hut of Baba Yaga and that Peter Mohrbacher lookin' thing gave me goosebumps. It would be nothing but spectacular to see it look a little closer to home.
I'm not really feeling the actor for Hellboy. Maybe I'm just used to the one from the first movies.
Looks terrible imo
Did they give the nazi at the beginning 3D glasses because of this panel?

Because those aren't 3D glasses as anyone with eyes can see that they're just regular ol' goggles with a blue tinge thanks to shading, and one of the lenses has a red cover with a swastika.
Everything about them trying to catch Mignola's style seems so surface level, and the worst part is when Mignola keeps claiming this is closer to his comics but outside of superficial elements I don't see it.
"Oh lets bring in Hellboys supporting cast. Well we can't use Abe because Del Toro did it already so lets bring in another cool looking character Hellboy never met"
I imagine Alice will probably be the closest to her comic counterpart(although not visually) but only because she'll be a love interest
What the fuck did they do to Hellboy.
Alright, weird make-up aside, I'm into this.
Ah... I don't know. It seems like a lot of story beats from the comics squished together. Makes it feel like it'll be overstuffed and not leave much for potential sequels. It's like the Dark Tower movie jumping right into some of the ending story beats from the beginning. Though if they do, I'd love to see giant lovecraftian monsters wandering a broken America like in Hell on Earth (but that won't happen, Hellboy will just save the day).
I don't know, give it a shot, it'll be a decent film at least I bet.
I really like David Harbour, but good loord his face doesn't makeup well
Yeah, judging by the trailer they don't really seem to have nailed the tone and style of the comics. The comics had this really fun and absurd dry humour to them that let's you take panels out of context and it comes of as "lol so random" but within context they not only make sense but are also legit funny. So far this seems like another, high stakes super hero movie with "badass" oneliners. I'd rather this be some smaller adventure with Hellboy, I am tired of movies where the stakes are the whole world and the final scene is borderline apocalyptical.
Parts of this look good but most of it looks like a Doctor Who episode.
I like the large-scale action scenes, but not so much the dialogue.
Speaking of The Dark Tower, do the knights cloaked in green in the trailer remind anyone else of Wolves of the Calla?
Y'know, I was thinking I'd like something like Dredd, but with Hellboy. Just some low-key monster fighting mission with Abe and Liz. Hollywood would never green-light such a thing, though.
I see Mila Jovovich is still a god-awful actress.
I'd love to meet Darryl on the big screen.
I kinda miss Ron Perlman already. If it's good I could get over it maybe.
This looks pretty damn good and I'm excited to see it. Especially love how bloody it is.
1:22 gave me flashbacks to Blood C.
