I'm not sure if I'm more stunned that god or evolution could create something so unique.
Also, I'm guessing this has something to do with El Nino, and climate change in general.

It's only because of Animal Crossing that I immediately recognized that as a Sunfish. See, video games are educational!
Title of the article is definitely befitting of the section. It's a first for North America, not overall.
Granted, from the very own article, it should have been expected to have cosmopolitan distribution if it's current sightings have been in Oceania and Netherlands.

they have such big eyes and tiny open mouths so they look adorably dopey
They are dopey. They are one of the most unintelligent fish. Seals will take huge bites out of them and they just swim around like nothing happened.
