The feels are too strong.
Takes me back to high school. Simpler times.
Man it feels so bad man I think I was able to recognize everything in that video why can't we go back
wait are people getting nostalgic over skyrim
what the fuckle
Did you know? The first Elder Scrolls was released in 1988. Skyrim, the fifth major title in the series, was released 15 years ago, which makes it older than the release of Sonic 06, released in 1999.
This was the first song I heard when the game was still in alpha and I instantly was entranced and taken aback by it. That was 10 years ago and I can still visualize the spawn point of the server i was in where i just let the music play.
We're doing sad videos now? I got you.

i can't believe it's been 10 years
Seeing Kitty in the video fucking hurts man. The Garry's Mod community lost so much when he passed. We are now starting to see a resurgence again, but just... Goddamn.
I literally have to turn the music off when I play Minecraft now.
I mean, Skyrim came out in 2011,about the same year Minecraft released it's Beta version, and that was a whole year before Facepunch jumped on with Max No Relax and a bunch of other MC FP servers. Heck, FP didn't even really have an MC thread until 2010. A year doesn't really make all that much of a difference. If you can feel nostalgic about Minecraft, you can feel nostalgic about Skyrim, they released at practically the same time. Remember Gmod's Toybox feature? That was about the same time too.
When you nothing to be nostalgic over because you were already past the age of childhood memories when Minecraft came out.

Dude Skyrim came out over 8 years ago
If you're my age (turning 22) that was late middle school. Shits old
I forget how important Minecraft was to my childhood until I hear the soundtrack. Also doesn't help that by default that music sounds melancholy as fuck.
god i feel old now
Skyrim is 8 fucking years old my man. I'd get nostalgic too, if it weren't for me playing it at least once every year since its release.
Otherwise, holy shit "Sweden" (calm3) brings back so many memories.
I have its sheet music right in front of me, something I printed out when I was a freshman in highschool, now 9 years ago.
Here I am thinking of notchs ever expanding vacations not nostalgia. The dude took like a 184 days off one year shortly after the game taking off, despite on paper still being the lead dev. I just think it's funny how this came to be a nostalgia bomb when this was born as a creative infiniminer clone.
Feels like just yesterday when I was a high schooler playing on a public TF2 server and people were getting hyped up about Skyrim's release coming the next day.
Remember when Black Mesa released their trailer in 2009, 10 years ago.

I'd take a vacation too if a small hobby project of mine made me a millionaire over night.
I remember when I went out with my mom and got the Orange Box on the day of release, and how stoked I was to play that, TF2 and Portal. That is already 12 years ago

My parents got me HL2 for my birthday. I played the original HL when I was younger, but when I got HL2 it came with CSS which basically funneled my attention into PC gaming and shooters.
What really hits the nostalgia notes for me are those classic CS:S deathrun maps.

It's funny to see some of them are still in use today.
This video gave me some big nostalgia so I went to go download the game again but couldn't log into my account. So I had to get the transaction ID from my mom's paypal since I bought it in 2011 under her supervision. But Paypal doesn't make it easy to get old transaction information these days.
Mojang Support is dealing with tickets from the beginning of Feburary. May be a while until I have my account back
In all seriousness the music is what pushed me to purchase Minecraft initially.
I recall I was playing the free demo, I think it may have even been browser based back in 2009, and was just messing around building and seeing how everything worked. Then I recall climbing a hill and getting this awesome view right as the music started. That's when I closed the demo and purchased it.
I still remember getting hyped as fuck watching the trailer during e3
I remember in 2012 when it finally released and we all went fucking bonkers
Ya' know what makes me smile? CS 1.6 Nipper maps.

ow_cc_crazytank will always hold a special place in my heart. Thankfully, Nipper is still making maps, but considering the fact that Valve hates car map people, we'll never see another great Crazytank map.
It’s pretty amazing that we so many titans of the Valve scene still checking in from time to time. Nipper, Romka, Sven and his team, even the folks over at the Love Tub are still working bit by bit on a Steam release for MI.
