https://www.militarytimes.com/news/pentagon-congress/2019/03/03/trump-claims-he-coined-the-nickname-mad-dog-mattis/ WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump incorrectly claimed to have coined former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’ well-known “Mad Dog” nickname because “Chaos” was not a good enough one for the four-star Marine Corps general. The comments came during a lengthy speech on Saturday before the annual Conservative Political Action Conference meeting. Trump was speaking on the military’s involvement in the Middle East when he said Defense Department generals “are perfect people” and he wanted to make more of them famous. “Just like I did with Mattis,” he said. “I said we’re going to give you a new nickname, because ‘Chaos’ is not a good nickname. So we changed it to ‘Mad Dog.’ But Mad Dog wasn’t working too well (as secretary)." Trump did give Mattis an original nickname last fall, labeling him as “moderate dog” as tensions between the two men grew.
Made him famous? Yeah, I'm sure Mattis being the most brilliant military commander alive has nothing to do with it.
He's a spoiled orange.
Every single news article is working real hard to use this image every time they say something about Trump. I already hated it before I saw it.
Hmm. I'm fairly certain I made up that name for him..
Well, urine has a lot of bacteria in it.
The only nickname you made famous involves the words “bone spurs”.
He's a narcissist and a pathological liar. He literally can't stop lying, and he can't not try to make himself look impressive.
We're hitting Eric Cartman levels of self-crediting.
Yes.
I think he has NPD as well.
(Armchair diagnosing is definitely problematic but at the risk of being called a hypocrite...) I looked up the symptoms of NPD. According to the DSM-5 it can be signified by the existence of any 5 of these 9 standards: A grandiose sense of self-importance A preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love A belief that he or she is special and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people or institutions A need for excessive admiration A sense of entitlement Interpersonally exploitive behavior A lack of empathy Envy of others or a belief that others are envious of him or her A demonstration of arrogant and haughty behaviors or attitudes I mean, isn't that just Trump in 9 bullet points?
I wouldn't normally say what I did, but it perfectly fits him. There's a video on YouTube all about similarities between Trump and Charles Manson. I recommend it heartily: https://youtu.be/ybitHLhb0yw Obviously Manson had schizophrenia too, but he compares a lot of their behaviours and it is intriguing for sure.
You only need 5/9 of those and Trump is a shining fucking example of each and every point. You'd swear someone looked at Trump and THEN wrote down the symptoms based on him
There was an act passed back during an earlier election saying it is illegal for psychologists to suggest presidential candidates aren't mentally fit to rule. I forgot his name, but it began with G, I think, and psychologists said he was mentally unfit. Many argue it is why he lost. Even so, I suggested NPD because two psychologists went off the record to say they think he has NPD about a year ago.
I'm so happy the wiki page for the Goldwater rule literally has a section on Donald Trump
Yeah, also the 10th bullet point was "Arsehole" but I left that one out
No it was me who made him famous, I coined it.
When I was in the military I was always shocked whenever someone thought he genuinely gave a shit about us, and would support us. I don't understand how he still has military support with all the bullshit he's done and the lies he's spewed.
Never underestimate the number of dumb people.
