DOA6 Season Pass 1 on Steam The 1st Season Pass is roughly 20£ more expensive than the base game. Included are 62 Outfits and 2 Characters to be released between march and june.
For 2 new characters and a bunch of costumes. What the actual fuck.
The costumes are why people buy this shit
Ohohoho then you haven't seen Doa5's catalog. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110525/9dababb3-6b1c-4ab3-9626-d09dabc29d2b/image.png And it was like that even before it went f2p.
The people that frequently pause the game like spending more money on it
I already got this. I main Ryu
Given the usual price of costumes and characters, combining the content into the pass together - it's a steal. Particularly because both included characters are guests - and the guest characters always cost more (something like $5.99 to $7.99 vs $2.99 or so for Team Ninja characters). Won't stop people complaining about it, but hey, you can always just... not buy the pass and buy what you want from it seperately as it becomes available. Or, if you're like me, buy none of it, because none of the content in the pass has looked like something I'd care enough to get right now. If there's one thing that's a bit shitty, though, they've confirmed there is going to be some stuff that isn't in the pass also coming up - though I don't think they've said what.
I really wish they'd make a Season pass that just included the upcoming characters.
Also note that this version of DoA5 here has no lobby system. If you want to fight a friend, tough luck, hope they pop up on the once-every-5-to-10-minute random challenger alert and that you both notice in time to accept it. Other versions of this game had lobbies, but they felt that they could get away with not bothering to enable it on your platform. DoA is the least consumer friendly fighting game series on the market today. Which, considering it's peers, says a lot.
The real rip off is that you only get Nyo-Tengu if you pre-order the game.
Soon they will charge for each graphics setting, UI element and sound we hear separately.. nonetheless this is absolute exploitation of what DLC should be, why on-purpose paint yourself as the game studio that is nickel and diming for a few mesh addons? For some reason the consumer is treated like an idiot, more than EA treats their Sims customers. Koei Tecmo would be better off just releasing definitive versions of their IP's (one game with all game-play and costumes that you would want) to build a good reputation rather than tarnish their existing one. Seems like ever since the PS2 era they haven't been able to think about any new things, this sheer focus on numbers (number of costumes, number of units in a game, number of playable characters) makes their creations really shallow, like a DarkRP server that's full of jobs named after stupid shit. I now have a connotation that paints their games as corridor cleaner simulators, sadly. Don't get me wrong I love their franchises but it's really ugly to see them step on their own work like that.
Nyotengu is only an early purchase bonus until that ends and then she will be a normal DLC character, as far as we're aware. No idea on Phase 4 but who fucking cares about Phase 4 anyway
Better deal that if it were lootboxes.
You can probably buy the characters and the costumes you like separately later on. That's how it was with DOA 5.
