I'll just go ahead and say the obvious things first; rape is horrific and portrayal of rape in a video game setting is generally a poor idea. THAT BEING SAID, we know nothing of the game and the article's only source is the game's name and generic description. While I highly doubt a random dev on steam is capable of writing a story that can tip-toe around the issue of rape, it seems weird to immediately get up in arms about it. For all we know it may not render any images of rape since it's just a visual novel.
I'm just getting flashbacks to Hatred when everyone got all upset and it turned out to be a boring, uninteresting game that everyone forgot about immediately afterwards.
It's a crappy porn visual novel. Had they changed the title, it would've flown under the radar easily, as there are already games on steam that cater to that particular fantasy.

Looks like nobody has actually used it.
you can't even buy it yet
They will sell this game no matter what now. If it was removed from steam, people who would've bought this will go seek it out. If you didn't say shit, no one would notice it except for a even smaller number of people, as most releases don't get noticed anymore since of too many fucking things on steam.
And I don't care that this game exists. Its virtual shit. Not real people, no one is being harmed.
In the screenshots , it looks like they didn't even bother waiting for some of the scenes to render completely .
Gone already
I'm not sure why this visual novel made using the free models you get from a 3D poser program is supposed to be the bulwark for Valve's willingness to allow rape and violence against women on Steam. I mean, there's a game on there right now that is about molesting girls to replenish their health, and failing to do so has them get violently raped to death by zombies. I don't see how this can be much worse than that.
Easy publicity for a low effort garbage game, I guess
The fuck? What is it called?
You gotta be logged in and allow adult content to see it, it's still up.
They could just remove it based on their... pfft... quality standa- hahaha!

Yikes, the edge.
It's called Seed Of The Dead. I saw some videos of it on PH while I was doing some, uh... research, and it's apparently on Steam.

only country it's banned from
I was about to say, this seems like it'd get banned instantly here considering RapeLay is also very illegal in Germany.
I have a hunch the similar names aren't a coincidence.
It had some weird fucked up monster bestiality too didn't it? I think I remember GGGmanlives talking about worms or something in his review of it
Something about this just doesn't seem right. Like it feels like someone actually did make this as a case to "test Steam's guidelines" in the hopes of maybe changing them or making them more restrictive.
Outside of maybe a young teen who just picked up Unity and thinks rape jokes are still funny, I seriously can't buy the narrative that someone would seriously make a game called RAPE DAY with straight intentions. Again, I more buy that this was made by someone who wants to challenge the guidelines, and so they purposefully went against their best intentions and made as vulgar of a game as they could to get the attention of the public and then Valve.
Also, I would think someone who was depraved enough to legitimately enjoy and make this content would either put drastically less work (meaning like you start the game and rape off the bat with no sort of story or dialog) or drastically more (fully detailed and interactive rape scenes) than what is present in this game.
Look at the dude who made Yandere Simulator and reconsider your thoughts.
Yandere simulator is relativelly well made though, has a lot of effort behind it and in general I would consider it a legitimate project.
I don't see the same in this game.
sounds like the perfect game for me
You shouldn't have told him, we're not gonna see Dan for weeks.
Haha, no. I would suggest doing some "behind the scenes" research of the game.
I don't see the parallels here, outside of Eva once writing a fanfic where Tira from Soul Calibur who is underage gets raped.
Comparing game to game though? Though Eva can't code worth shit, he's gone for the bit I outlined earlier where he put in drastically more effort than what RAPE DAY has for its game. YanSim has shit like suicides and bullying, and it at least tries (keyword "tries") to be a stealth action game (with cheap 3D assets) instead of just a static visual novel (with cheap 3D assets).
Going to be bought by hundreds now just for a cheap laugh "loool look at the game I'm in xd" good job poly
I know the guy is questionable, I don't know the specifics of what he has done in the past, but the result is that yandere simulator ended up being a better product than this.
I am not completely familiar with Yandere simulator, but afaik he didn't make the assets.
Should not all topics and theams be explored in the arts
