https://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-one-s-all-digital-edition-preorder Give me the disc trade in program, I want all my 360 games as digital
I'm all for consoles with no physical media. I haven't bought a physical game in forever.
so the rumors were true
Only reason for me to get an Xbox One S right now is since its a 4k bluray player. I hope they keep selling normal S consoles.
Considering the X also has an ODD I don't think the S is going anywhere. I have a feeling this might be positioned below the S, maybe at the $199 price point.
I still buy physical games, at least older games, because they are frequently like 1/3rd or 1/4th the price of a digital copy.
The "Xbone Sad"
Ehh, I dunno. The whole reason people like physical games is because they're a tangible item. I went all digital on my Switch for portability's sake, but for a console that's just gonna sit there like an Xbox or a Playstation? The convenience of not having to get up to swap games just isn't worth trading the ability to return or sell the games later. There's a couple of games on Switch I definitely wouldn't mind refunding if I had the option.
But they're really not anymore. Most games you have to install anyway ontop of a day one patch
What do day 1 patched have to do with the ability to sell or return my physical game copies?
This alone convinces me that the real name of the console will be the "Xbox One D", it just makes more sense than calling a One S.
Looking forward to purchasing the new XB1 SAD soon. Microsoft really needs to get a handle on their naming conventions.
I really don't mind the concept. With things like Gamepass and Games for Gold, they're giving a not-that-bad reason to buy less physical games I obviously can see why people want to keep only buying physical games, but a more budget-console that's digital only? Alright, why not.
This is just the logical evolution from the 360 Arcade edition - a console with a 4GB hard drive when its sister had 120 or 250gb. With Microsoft pushing Game Pass so hard, this really should come as no surprise. I'm not excited, but I also can't blame them.
As long as its only an option and doesn't replace the versions with a disc drive, I don't mind this move at all.
I'll honestly be picking one of these up shortly, I haven't had an Xbox since my 360 elite but Play Anywhere between my PC, Xbox and soon to be switch is just too spicy of a combo
Not interested in the product, but highly interested in trading in some physical games for digital equivalents, especially original Xbox or 360 titles.
