https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/03/04/huawei_to_sue_us_gov_equipment_ban_rumours/ Huawei is to sue the American government for banning federal agencies from using the Chinese giant's network equipment, according to reports stateside.
Is this even going to go anywhere? I mean if federal agencies of a country don't want to use your product then what the fuck can you even do about it? You can't just fucking force it.
And if they do actually win - does that mean the US could sue the Chinese government into using spyware-filled products?
Iunno does the Chinese government abide by copyright rules upheld by all the international forums?
For how "me me me" the Chinese gov't seems to be, this doesn't really surprise me in the slightest. They're so fucking annoying and act like they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. International toddler tantrum.
No because China has zero respect for international companies, and to operate in China you have to sell yourself to or partner with a Chinese company. Failing that, they'll just copy your product and sell it as a Chinese product because they don't give a fuck about patents or copyrights.
I swear Chinese business practice is the equivalent to a battle royale game.
It's not mentioned directly in the source, but the source links to NYT reporting on Huawei's likely argument: According to one of the people familiar with the matter, Huawei is likely to argue that the provision is a “bill of attainder,” or a legislative act that singles out a person or a group for punishment without trial. The Constitution forbids Congress to pass such bills.
