• Make MODELS into SWEPS?

Hello everyone viewing this, I am making a WW1 server and I cannot find any weapons so I have decided to make them myself. It seems simple to make a couple of LUA filed etc. but I'm confused on what about the animation, the ammo and generally how to make models into SWEPS? Can anyone help? Here are the files I'm going to try and make into SWEPS : Steam Workshop
"Props" can't be just made into SWEPs. Either you have to learn how to make proper models (v_models etc) or create a job on gmodstore to make someone who knows how to do it.
Well, you could use the Swep Creation Kit method of view models and turn the props into SWEPs. They work great too, just a little time consuming
how would I go about doing this?
How would you do this? They are basically just world models (props). Everything you need to make a v_model out of them is basically missing. The creator also mentioned that they have no animations because the animation system of Frostbite is hard to understand etc.
is there any use in these props if I cannot make them into SWEPS?
Depends on what you mean. Those models are just props - used by many players to create artworks etc.
is there some way I could use blender to make these work or are they out the realm of making SWEPS?
Didn't realize he wanted full-fledged models, just thought he wanted to go at it with his own. I have seen some very nice looking animations you can do with SWEP creation kit since they include firing and reload triggers. So you could easily do swinging, rotating parts, removable parts, etc. That's where the tedious factor comes in though. You might be barred with simplicity though
When I assign a gun to the SWEP Creation kit, my hands do not show - and I dont understand the two different world model and view model?
If you don't care about animations, you can do what the entirety of the star wars community does and just slap the model of the weapon on a pre-built view model, hide the main gun, and then use a reload animation that hides ( see the DC-15 for example ) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=926342673&searchtext=dc-15 for example )
So if I found a suitable gun I can remake with just slapping a different model onto it, it should work fine?
Yeah, just use the creation kit to drop the scale of the weapon to 0, then position your new model on it.
I know this is really annoying now, but I really cannot get hands to show :/
I believe you can do it if you read the options carefully I'm not the guy who made the addon anyway. Also the hands won't show up on the creation kit, only when the SWEP is active.
