https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2019/03/05/fda-commissioner-gottlieb-who-raised-alarms-about-teen-vaping-resigns/ The article mentions he commutes from his home in Connecticut to DC, so if the given reason is the real reason, I would certainly understand.
Apparently this guy was one of the only people in the administration who did a decent job.
What did they offer him and what was he blocking them from pushing through.
ya hence the need for him to go.
He wanted to limit the amount of nicotine in tobacco products.
You're telling me the FDA is actually capable of doing a worse job?
You have no idea. They could basically be dismantled or turned against itself like the EPA but instead it was mostly business as usual. In this case, it means pro-industry but not Libertarian wet dream which, compared to everything else that's happened, a miracle. Looking at his alternatives at the time when he was nominated, we probably dodged a bullet. Now we may need to go through that again.
they're currently not a political rubber stamp for every drug maker even though their policies seem to benefit them more than the general public. His crusade against tobacco though seems to have been a bridge too far in this administration. Here's to another generation hooked on this shitty product that does nothing good at all for mankind and the earth.
It's crazy that the FDA don't need to authenticate supplements. The John Oliver episode about it said something like only 50% of diet supplements in the US contain what they say they do.
its crazy the FDA considers pharmacy grade medications from canada more dangerous to our health than bang won's dietary pills from some website in china.
oof what a dangerous mindset of not believing what people say about themselves because you don't like the people they work for.
You're just embarrassed I shot down your first two posts before you could even type them.
Every single other person who has resigned due to pressure from the administration has made it pretty clear thats why they resigned. This guy lives 5 hours from his house and had to commute home. That's extremely reasonable and a believable reason to quit any job.
We're all exhausted by the incompetence and blatant malice of most of Trump's appointees, so forgive us for having suspicions on the matter. The fact that these tweets seem like they came from a normal presidency, and that this is surprising and an exception to what is now the norm, shows just how bad things really are. Nobody expects someone to resign on good terms for a legitimate, wholesome reason. It just doesn't happen in this administration.
