Interesting video but what the fuck is that bargain bin Geralt narrator?
It's the Geralt voice actor.
the way these guys talk about their own project makes me think they're selling us on a wish. they sound like someone who owes you money but doesn't have it on them
i mean CPR may not be the best company to work for, but they still release really good games.
I mean they only made better game as they’ve gone on. I hope that train doesn’t stop.
whoops
I kinda get why they’re being so cagey about this. They’re doing something completely different than their last three games, and they’re coming off all the hype and praise they received for The Witcher 3, so expectations are already astronomically high and it’s quite clear that they don’t want to fuck this up.
As gaming corporate has been showing us, there's no such thing as non-stop growth or increase in success and blind pursuit of that will lead nowhere good. That goes for the market AND creative endeavours. We could very much be seeing devs trying to inflate the creativity of their projects while under-delivering the same way we just saw Bobby the Tick announce economic growth over last year, yet laid off 800 people.
This expectation of constant improvement or growth is a cancer and it's very feasible that CDPR feels stuck in having to over-sell their game... or it's just good, who knows. But people should be cautious with any game despite whatever dev or any previous history. It's a very unstable and inconsistent industry in terms of survival and quality delivered. It's unfortunately the nature inherited by the fact that the majority of the industry resides in or relies on contacts in America and Japan.
I dunno why but I heard David Hayter lol
Marcin is aging at like 5 years per year, wtf
Well if it sucks, it sucks. We’ll all move on eventually. I’d like to stay optimistic for now and accept whatever happens when it releases.
The core issue i see is that delivering a product that doesn't outright surpass Witcher 3, will somehow be seen as a failure, despite being good enough and that is what leads to some people perceiving an inflation and over-selling of what the game might be or not be. There's no question if the game will be good. It's almost guaranteed. What's in question is whether it'll be better than The W3 and why it really should matter if it is or not (investors), since it'll be a competent and entertaining, high quality product either way.
There's an extreme and useless focus on optics in gaming these days. If a game isn't better than a near-perfect predecessor, it's automatically seen as a failure and this is what they could be trying to dodge.
what company is?
I’m kind of it expecting it to be less refined than the Witcher 3 because they exploring a new genre, new gameplay mechanics, and style. It might very well not be polished as Witcher 3.
