Airborne is one of my favorite Medal of Honor games that I go back to every so often. Despite its flaws.
Odd that he considers Der Flakturm out of place considering that flak towers are a real thing.
No doubt just ignorance really.
The issue with the Flak Tower mission is unlike all the other missions it was completely made up and it's also filled with Wolfenstein gasmask troopers.
You can also move while ADSing but I don't really blame him for not knowing that. Also, the Flakturm mission is one of my favorite video game missions of all time. Really creative and a great way to wrap up the game.
Yeah it was an acceptable break IMO. Medal of Honor has always been more of an 60s action movie style WW2 rather than a realistic one.
Like there's a mission in Allied Assault where you steal a King Tiger and go on a rampage, the whole series could get pretty goofy.
I mean from memory Pacific Assualt may be the most grounded of all the games, like only the flying segment seems out of place. Airborne is a close second, and all the others are mostly OSS hijinks that sometimes overlap with major battles.
True, it's a bit of a mixed bag. But in the context of the whole series I think it's fine.
Oh definitely. I miss classic Medal of Honor stuff. Frontline was wild, equal parts Saving Private Ryan and Indiana Jones/Wolfenstein 3D.
How was DICE involved in the MoH games since 1999? I know they made the multiplayer for the 2010 reboot but other than that...
They weren't involved at all until MoH: 2010's MP, not to my knowledge anyway.
I also loved how Airborne recycled music from the older games from the series, always felt nostalgic and got a kick out of that.
The developers of the original MOH as well as several other games in the series like PA and Airborne were later rebranded as DICE LA. That's probably what he was thinking of, but DICE LA is not the same as DICE. They also had nothing to do with best MOH game Allied Assault, which was made by the infinity ward/respawn guys.
Allied Assault is still my favorite MoH game. Multiplayer sucked due to your latency causing a delay between clicking and firing, same as Raven Shield, but Raven Shield had an option that fixed that
Actually most MoH games after Underground did that. I think Pacific Assault and Rising Sun have unique soundtracks because they're different war theaters but other than that, Panzer Blockade is always present (because it's awesome).
Frontline has its own(and best) and best. European Assault had a different composer altogether.
I remember buying a boxed copy of this game only to not have a cd-key on it, so i never could play the multi part. Singleplayer was fun tho
Airborne on the highest difficulty made me rage so much but I just couldn't stop playing
I remember playing this game like it was yesterday.
Like holy fuck the nostalgia is so real on this one.
Frontline as well as European Assault have unique soundtracks.
European Assault really doesn't get enough credit for it's soundtrack, it's probably the best in the entire series.

I still nominate Dogs of War itself to be the king of European Assault OST. The feels everytime, man.

The theme music still gives me chills
