Mods being able to edit thread titles. Good joke.
I hope the outrage over this comes hard and fast enough to knock some fucking sense into their skulls so no advertiser ever thinks puppeteering the social media account of a dead man is a good fucking idea.
Absolutely no respect. Bastards.
Doesn't matter. The fact that this is so low and disrespectful makes it all that much more effective, and they'll continue doing shit like this
Let the guy rot in peace.

what the shit Stan Lee's twitter has been going on in his honor as long as he's been dead and the pinned tweet explains why, they talk about everything relevant, not just this movie he's literally in Captain Marvel I swear the attention being brought to this has to be targeted due to other nontroversies with CM itself because this twitter has been known to be moving. It's not new at all, they didn't just log into his account randomly to drop an unnecessary "ad". I think more confusing is that JFK and other multi-decade long dead celebrities have verified twitters. No way they could've approved that prior to their deaths.
The thing is that up until this point Stan Lee's Twitter was betting used to pay tribute to him by sharing things about his life after he died. Stuff like moments from his career, photos, etc. This however is just blatant advertising using his old account. That's what makes this stand out as being in poor taste.
(somewhat related) I know this move sucks, but the start of the movie has a tear-worthy Stan Tribute which I loooved They replaced the traditional Marvel intro (comic book flipping pics of MCU characters) with pictures of Stan
I remember similiar critiscism being levelled at marketing people taking over the Terry Pratchett facebook account almost immediately after his death (although I don´t think it was ever actually used by him). https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/239377/a862ddf7-c278-4d10-b78f-995f64600135/tp2.jpg
You need to be very naive if you think that this kind of "Homage" isn't in the end an ad to the movie.
Pratchett's facebook is still active with discworld related announcements, IIRC its being maintained by his daughter? Not sure about that but it definitely was never him personally using it.
I see promotional shit for the Captain Marvel movie EVERYWHERE. The Infinity War ads weren't nearly this invasive. They REALLY want people to see this most likely garbage movie.
Someone out there approved this and thought it was a good idea wtfff
I'm dead sure that, if this was even approved, it was by force. Dead fucking sure.
