I'm glad this in bi-partisan, might give it more of a chance.
I fucking hope so. Still, a lot of Dems will be against it for the standard shitty reasons.
I hope it passes
But it won't.
I'm gonna bet this passes the House, fails the Senate. I think there's enough momentum in the Democrats to get it through, especially with bipartisan support, but the Senate's in full legislative lockdown. Unless Cheeto suddenly decides marijuana legalization is part of his platform, I doubt it'll make it to a vote, much less pass.
Im surprised trump hasn't seen the immense revenue potential of this. He's either that clueless or he's in the pocket of pharma
He really doesn't give a shit about the revenue the US government cohld be making.
But after he's done being president? Could we see trump marijuana?
I don't think he's smart enough (or is going to be out of prison enough) to pull that off tbh
Dude fucked up a casino
True, but just the thought of smoking a trump brand joint filled with orange kush is quite amusing
Ha, I doubt he'd ever allow that to be released under his branding.
Definitely going to be done by someone though
Probably sell it under the strain name of big orange
Virtually every major 2020 Dem candidate supports legalising it federally, so it could happen in 2021

Harris, who acknowledged smoking pot in college, said in one of her first interviews as a candidate that marijuana “gives a lot of people joy, and we need more joy.”
wtf I love kamala harris now
McConnell might not bring it up for a vote, both sides had to drag on him just to get him to bring up bi-partisan justice reform.

But in serious news, this could be great. New Mexico has legislation that passed the State House, but it's a bit watered down from what the dems originally proposed (1oz. max down from 2oz., stores are state-owned unless you live 25+ miles from a state-owned dispensary then you can have a private one, you MUST keep your receipts because if they ask for one, can't grow your own plants without medical, etc.).
"We have whip counts for 95 senators, just put the bill on the floor!"
"I uh can't er...won't do anything about this traveaty of justice until the president is clear he intends to sign it."
"He also called you a doody head on Twitter and said he'd sign it."
"I uh, we should take our time then and not rush into this, we don't want to be soft on crime after all!"
I swear congress would be at least 10% more productive if they stopped giving that guy the gavel.
Thank goodness, took them long enough.
