Well Garry, the time has come I think.
My computer albeit is a potato.

With that said, before the update I had about 40 hours in the last 10 days. Stuttered a little bit but I have grown used to that.
When the update hit I downloaded the patch ,logged on and stayed on for about 2 minutes. Crash
Attempted again, same results.
Did a file verification,same results.
Updated drivers, same results...This all on a newly formatted machine
::sigh::
In a nutshell Garry, It looks like it is time to upgrade my comp but it isn't as easy as just going out purchasing a new one. With that said, I have played since the beginning on browser . Looks like my time has come.
Do you play full screen or window mode? My son has a PC around the same spec's as yours before I upgraded him. But I still have his tower & it still loads rust up fine on potato. It is a little unstable if its full screen. But try loading it up in window mode, then clicking the window top right to maximise the window. It doesn't require as much resources in window mode than it does full screen.
No in fullscreen it takes less resources because in windowed you are also loading the desktop.
Well, I get higher FPS & lower CPU/GPU usage when in window mode. But, I am on 16GB DDR4 & Ryzen 1600X
Garry doesnt work on Rust
That is a pun. I couldve said Helk but it would be the same...lol
But actually I only added that based on a joke from years ago (about this very same topic) with Garry on the old forums.
And yea...nothing seems to be working. Tried the ol Windowed method and I actually didn't last more than 30 seconds. I mean, it isn't like I haven't known this would eventually be the case. And personally, I am surprised it has lasted this long on Rust.
Just sucks, almost 5k hours in this game and can't play
Sorry but for once i could not be happier with the update.........
so much crap has been fixed on the OSX bld, one would think Apple make good game machines...
I just don't understand why a machine that is 12 years out of date and has dinosaur foot prints on the CPU lids is even a viable game machine.
It is true and the question is totally valid. I have two comps and my primary is a 95% dedicated audio workstation. My secondary (the one above I refer to) machine as old as it is has been a very stable pc for me when it came to gaming. Still is and I really don't have much issue[s] with any other games I play.
I guess I am bummed because of the fact that I have seen this game grow to what it is today from the beginning and the content increasingly has gotten better.
Performance however is another thing...lol This game has always been plagued with some sort of issue but I always just worked around it and conformed.
It's just that now, it has caught up to me and I know I wont go out to buy another comp just for this game. But, I know I for sure got my $$$ worth and it sucks because it is really starting to get good now..LOL
I was talking about my OWN mac pro.... pre-2009.. which was out of date when it was released.....
