Some of the stuff mentioned in this video is legit bullshit, but the video creator, like many discussing this problem, does not understand what fair use is
Fair use does not say "you can use a sample of copyrighted music/content for whatever you want as long as you don't play the whole thing"
Using a sample of content is only fair use if it's for the purpose of criticism.
There is no 5 second rule either, that's just the minimum amount of time before Youtube's content ID system will kick in.
Yeah fair use has some nuance to it. It has to be for the purposes of parody, criticism or commentary. I heard it also can't infringe on the original market.
Wouldn't remaking an anime opening with janky dark souls machinima count as parody?
