Hi all,
Has anyone else had any experience with what seems to be a desync issue I keep having?
Every hour or so my game won't freeze, I can still run around and see other players running around, but I can't interact. I can't open doors, change hotbar, farm nodes, or pick up/drop items. If I get killed all other players stop moving but I can still run around.
If I dc then reconnect I end up wherever I ran to (assuming I wasn't killed), and I can then interact and play normally again.
Any ideas what could be going on? My internet is fine no issue with other games, and my PC is good I run decent graphics settings without issue...
Thanks for reading,
Brun
Does anyone have an idea what could be going on here? I still have this issue fairly randomly... It happened when I was far from base but managed to run the whole way back without being able to use hotbar/open boxes/doors.
When I got back to back I pressed e to open door which didn’t work, but then when I DC’d and reconnected i was just outside and the door was open...
It happened again when I was farming, ore node wouldn’t decrease in size when I hit it so I ran to a bush and relogged. When I reconnected I was in the bush and had actually mined the node and had the ore in my inventory...
All very strange, does anyone have any experience with this or have any idea what could be happening?
Step 1: play on another server and see if it happens there. If it's fine then the issue is with the original server and not on your end.
Step 2: check your firewall settings, reboot router, have a look at AV and stuff like that because it's most likely some kind of network blockage.
Thanks for the advice! It’s happened on every server I have played on so I will look in to my firewall settings... it’s just strange that I don’t completely disconnect - I can run around fine and reconnect wherever I ran to so there is obviously some partial connection there...
What you've described is incoming stream fine, outgoing blocked.
Still having real issues with this.. Just happened twice in an hour or so.. Had to reconnect and sit in que for 20 mins both times.
I've tried resetting my router which didn't seem to help. What should I look for in my firewall settings?
You could try monitoring your network connection with Wireshark or similar tools to inspect the behavior in more detail before checking your firewall.
Firewalls themselves are just simple tables that either let packets pass or not based on simple patterns like destination or source address. Unless you are using a complex intrusion detection or ddos protection it seems rather unlikely to me that there is an issue with your firewall, so I'd recommend focusing on gathering more information first.
Thanks for the tips Duff, I'm not the best with PCs so I'll try and find out about Wireshark... Such an annoying issue! I haven't heard of anyone else having this type of problem before... A simple reconnect always fixes it but with a 30 player que atm it's a nightmare, just happened for third time today busy servers seem to be worse.
Hi all,
I've still been getting these issues and have been using wireshark to record my crashes. I really have no idea what I am looking at though.. Does anyone here have any expertise with this and would be able to take a look at my crash reports?
