Spins it's wheels a lot so I'll give a TL;DR

Traditionally, you had three domains. Land, sea and air. Now, the amount of domains has increased - land, sea, air as well as a potential space and cyber domain. In order to fully utilize aspects of warfare as a commander, you are to best use these as one rather then keep them as completely separate theaters.
