I just think some young people, the video games they play, the stuff they see online, it may desensitise them to violence

Non-gamers aren't as into video games as they were a decade ago. Shifting industry attitudes turned them away. As a result, they became less amicable again.
On topic, I don't think it's video games themselves that's doing it (and the porn comment makes no sense), but I will once again state my suspicion rather towards online interactions in general when it comes to things like this. The more hostile segments of the internet are a breeding ground for sociopaths, and yes, voice and text chat while gaming online is often nothing but hostile. Again, I'll emphasize it's not the games themselves doing this, but the element of consequence-free, impersonal, and often anonymous communication - and in the zero-sum environment of competition no less.
parents just not teaching their kids anything is a problem, we have so much antiscience in this country.
Here's an idea: stop substituting actual parenting with YouTube. It's no wonder some kids show signs of aggression when their only understanding of the real world comes from random assholes online.
I know its been said before on this forum, but holy shit this country is inept when it comes to understanding the root causes of the problems we face.

Stating videogames and porn cause violence actually makes me feel more violent than any videogame and porn ever has.
Mainly since I know a person like this would take it far enough to ban those than admit they made it up to sweep the real problem, cutting funding to police, under the rug.

And everything else that eventually turned out to be just another medium of entertainment instead of the harbinger of the Anti-Christ. It's easier to point fingers at what's popular with younger generations than find out the real problem and work on fixing it.
