care to elaborate
It's not like this show is replacing the original work, If you don't like it just stick with that. Personally both classic and modern versions of these characters and adventures are great.
Out of curiousity what is that four eyed muffin thing?
Elaborate. I love Don Rosa, but expecting Disney to continue his shtick of putting the stories in the 1950's for the sake of continuity would be quite unrealistic. I remember even I found it quite silly as a kid (although I do respect this stylistic decision more now).
if i had to guess (keep in mind this is literally completely devoid of context b/c i don't watch this show) i would say the plot of the episode is there's some big weird monster thing that's aggressive when you get near where it is and then it gets found out that it's actually protecting it's tiny weird baby four eyed muffin thing
As soon as I realized this show was great and saw how merges the different Ducktales media together, bringing the Moon theme into the show in some way was literally my main hope. To see that it's wasn't just used, but a canon and somewhat significant plotpoint is absolutely fantastic. Also, ignore what Hjalmar says. Ducktales 2016 is easily the best show reboot of an already good franchise ever made. It respectfully merges the elements from the 90's cartoon and comic series as well as adding its own flair to make it stand out and improving character elements, such as individualizing the brothers, or reworking Webby's character to be cool.
CRAZY, DUCK IN SPACE! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHEgzRtKC5o only lyrics I'll need tyvm
I really, really really love the artstyle of the reboot. It is kinda unortodox but very expressive. As for Don Rosa (and to a lesser extent Carl Barks) the guy rightfully gets a lot of praise but he really shouldn´t be the end all of Disneydom. Guy got some flaws as an artist (as all human beings do) that becomes rather glaring if you read a few of his longer comics all in one go. As a side-note, it was he that introduced me to nordic mythology via his Kalevala-comic. If anyone has read any of my creative efforts on this forum they know how much norse mythology interests and inspires me. So I owe him greatly for that. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/239377/61717ff7-b136-48bf-8b9f-55a32e508b6e/1.jpg To this day this is exactly what I imagine the witch Louhi and the monster Iku-Turso looking like.
I love the show reboot actually, it's actually insane how many references to the comic there are and how close it is to it in tone and content itself. It's so good, and my only gripe with it is probably the reworked design for Webby's aunt aswell as Flintheart glomgold (Why did they make him FAT?) otherwise I think it's pretty cool and there are also some good redesign such as Magica DeSpell who look really good. Her niece is also a great addition.
now there's finally an excuse for someone to remake this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROKZ_j1lN4U
Not following a particular canon doesn't make it bad. There is no one "true canon". The hundreds if not thousands of artists and writers that have made content for the universe over the decades have always done so through varying perspectives and interpretations. Sounds like you're largely disappointed because it didn't fulfill your expectations. Learn not to have such, and you'll find Duck universe fiction much easier to enjoy.
Is there any place to watch this legally in Canada? I stopped watching about midway through Season 1 and I'd like to catch up.
The theme is actually used through out the episode in different styles.
