I have recently returned to rust. I joined rust way back when it was first released and the keys were sold 1 at a time through this ever decreasing cost mechanic and the game had its own launcher which I believe was the Unity one if I'm not mistaken. I can't seem to find out how to reclaim my old launch account and tie it to my steam. I still have the activation key I received way back then but cannot find a way to attach it. Also the "Login/Reset" options are grayed out unless I choose Steam, Google, Twitter, Etc.
Is anyone able to help me out on this please?
You will need to open a support ticket with FP. The old legacy keys site that gave you a Steam key for your Dutch auction key is long dead so you'll need to manually contact them to sort it out and confirm your purchase records.

SEPARATE from your Rust serial key issue, Facepunch has completely revamped its forums, as you have likely seen, and the new account system utilizes your Steam/Google/Twitter/etc. account as public authentication instead of Facepunch holding your username and password credentials locally where they could be hacked. (As the auth systems explain, Facepunch receives a unique token that proves it's you by way of confirming you're logged into your Steam/Google/etc. account, but not your actual account password or anything.) If you care about linking your old posts and postcount, you can migrate an old-forums account using the migration system. Make sure you do not enter the wrong email address because each account only gets one migration chance.
