the year long loading screens in the intro gave me weird nostalgia, forgot how long it used to take
Xash has been recently ported to the Switch, it runs very well there.
Man, the old half life menu was so stylish, I kinda forgot about it
It's also on the vita, but tbf, it's way more amazing to see it running relatively well on the 3DS, given the relative hardware disparity between it and other systems.
I would kill for a Half-Life collection on the Switch, although that would rely on Valve actually doing something.
If Android port for Switch will have proper GPU drivers, you'll definitely be able to play Half-Life 2 and iirc both episodes, which were ported to Android exclusively for Tegra powered devices. And Xash3D won't go anywhere. So you don't have to rely on Valve.
Honestly, with the budgets they allow for, I'm shocked they have not considered to branch out to the Switch or even the 3DS when it was at its highest. I kind of see why they'd avoid Nintendo as a brand since Nintendo historically has been more "kid-friendly" than what Valve typically likes to put out there. That being said, it feels like the Portal franchise would be a perfect fit for a Nintendo console - so much so that they incorporated Portal as a Lego Dimensions universe and Bridge Constructor Portal is on the Switch as well. The 3DS offered some unique control schemes like with Kid Icarus: Uprising where you could use a combination of stylus strokes to pan the camera around and the control stick to move. That type of scheme fits the third person shooting perspective well and I could see something similar working for first person. Honestly felt like the best possible control setup for a game like that without a keyboard and mouse.
I can confirm that it work properly :^) https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/481233512456912903/554773350195527723/IMG_20190311_221030.jpg
I would love to play this with metroid prime hunters controls
Breath of the Wild-style gyro aiming would make this so much fun on the 3DS or Switch.
This led me to find out a Xash3d branch exists on Android and works great so now I can play and HL based game (with mp) on my phone which is nice, though it takes awhile to get used to touch controls. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109898/d672b14b-1e07-47f2-8d96-20868208bea8/Screenshot_20190313-102332_Xash3D FWGS.jpg Would definitely love to load it on my switch.
What's stopping you, it has been ported to the Switch hasn't it?
on a new 3ds, this runs REALLY well. online also works really well, only thing that sucks are the controls, text on the screen is kind of big, and loading times.
Basically yeah. Waiting for a second Nintendo switch to come into my possession before I fiddle with something that could potentially break my system if I'm not careful.
