• 'Legally binding' changes to Brexit deal agreed on eve of vote

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47533164 Tomorrow is the last chance for May to get her Brexit deal through parliament. It was headed for a second overwhelming defeat, so May has apparently secured some changes to it. If these changes are enough to get MPs to back it, then Brexit goes ahead on 29th March. If the deal fails again then Brexit will almost certainly be delayed, and a nuclear can of worms will be opened (how long should we delay it for? how long will the EU let us delay it for? what are we gonna do once we've delayed it? what the fuck are we going to fucking do??? should we hold a second referendum???? cancel Brexit???!!??!?)
I can see the deal passing because some Labour MPs have rallied for the rest of the party to get behind the vote. It's almost safe to say that this is happening, though I shall gladly be proven wrong.
Seems like this hasn't won over too many of May's more ardent opponents; https://twitter.com/patrickwintour/status/1105232091120320512?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw And the Attorney General hasn't decided on his (apparently important) opinion; https://twitter.com/bbclaurak/status/1105231401576787968 DUP apparently wanting to wait until tomorrow to make their decision.
I think people were starting to talk about another defeat by 200 votes. This would need to win over literally hundreds of MPs so May better hope whatever she's agreed is fucking amazing or that MPs are scared shitless enough to back it regardless
Unless the changes are drastic then it isn't going to get supported in Parliament, I can quite easily see it getting shot down and us crashing out with a no deal"
This is going to change some MP's minds, give the ones who were wanting to vote for it anyway a chance to climb down from the ladder they've spent the last few years jumping up. But I get the impression that the AG will say something to the effect of 'nothing has changed' (maybe dressing up in flowery language), and cause the ERG/DUP to stay where they are. Labour will have its defectors, but I'm not entirely convinced that it will be anywhere near enough for the thing to pass.
The thing that's terrifying me the most is that they're so bullheaded and prideful that they've still not ruled out no deal, they'd rather crash out without a deal and fuck things up even more than call the whole thing off they're playing a game of political chicken with people's livelyhoods and it disgusts me

Fucking hell. Theresa May couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery, how the fuck she ever made it to home secretary let alone Prime Minister I will never know.
So if No Deal happens they can cancel Brexit? Or am i reading this wrong?
But what's the point of renegotiating if the EU has already said they won't take anything other than the deal already sorted with them?
Its a political move to make it look like she's actually trying to get a good deal, and if she doesn't get anything its easier to shift the blame onto the EU if things go bad. In reality she may as well sit in parliament playing candy crush seeing as there's 0% chance she's going to get anything. The EU holds all the cards here, we have no bargaining position.
We're 10 layers deep in Brexit jargon here, basically they negotiated a "backstop" which means that if everything goes to shit, we'll default to staying half-in the EU so that there won't be a hard border on Ireland. The "backstop" will end when the UK and EU both agree to end it because they've negotiated a permanent settlement to replace it. Brexiteers don't like that because if we can't negotiate a permanent settlement then we could be trapped half-in the EU forever, so they won't vote for the deal unless it's changed so that the UK can unilaterally leave the backstop without the EU's agreement. The EU won't give us that power because their main concern is protecting Ireland from the threat of a hard border, and that's where it's all been stuck for the past few months. May's now got an epic change to swing the Brexiteer's votes, but it turns out all she's done is agreed that the UK will come out and say "we reckon we can already leave the backstop unilaterally!" which really changes nothing. The deal is still the same as ever, so she's looking pretty fucked currently
I bet you could keep everything in the deal the same, but change the name EU to the UK, or the 'British Empire' and they would agree to it. I'm genuinely curious how that would go.
I'm not. I'm terrified.
Guys please hold me. I'm scared.
