Good. It's pretty scummy of Boeing to roll out a new computer system that micro adjusts the plane during takeoff, without informing the pilots/airlines.
Good. Fuck Boeing.
Personally I don't think the crashes are related, but the new autopilot system is unnecessary, weird, and makes it too easy for transitioning pilots to fuck up without realizing it. I wouldn't expect a country like Ethiopia to have very impressive maintenance standards. I also wouldn't call Ethiopia Airline's safety record 'good'
Keep in mind that Boeing is no stranger to covering up obvious defects in their designs, a defective rudder system led to 3 hull-loss crashes and several cases of aircraft flipping themselves over in mid air, but Boeing refused to investigate early complaints of uncontrolled rudder movement and even went so far as to accusing the pilot of plane involved in a fatal crash of having a seizure and pressing a rudder pedal accidentally. It wasn't until the FAA mandated the changes and Boeing's cover ups were exposed to the public that they actually changed the defective part. I wouldn't be surprised if its a similar situation here, though its quite a depressing thought that a company with so many metaphorical lives in its hands still acts so maliciously.
