Hypnospace Outlaw is a single player internet experience that pretends it's the internet from twenty years ago.
In this game, you are an elite agent of the Hypnospace Patrol Department (read: internet janitor) whose job is to enforce the strict community guidelines and to ban confused middle-aged women who didn't know they were breaking copyright infringements.
However, these tricky internet capers aren't as opened and closed as you think they are! You must use your advanced understanding of internet culture to look past the thin façades to protect the innocent hyperspace denizens from wanton cruelty and the poor stockholders from libel and defamation!
It's stupidly in-depth and meticulously designed.

Hypnospace Outlaw on Steam
Looks like LCD dream emulator's lesser known 6 year old kid.
Hot Dad made a song about this game waaaayyy back in 2016, so I was curious when the game would finally come out.

i made all the squisherz : )
I was watching Neil Cicierega play this the other day. It looks p neat.
@Hezzy @postal @smurfy
I'm gonna need you guys to play this and report back how accurate it is.
Hezzy I'll subscribe to your Twitch stream if you play it live.
I'm off Wednesday and Thursday. I'll be giving up precious Division 2 time to play it.
Finished the game yesterday, have a question about the ending for anyone else who's gotten there:
Was anyone able to prevent any of the deaths at the end? I had all six people die. According to the devs you can save two of them, but I've got not idea how.
So if this whole thing takes place in your head while youre sleeping why are there keyboard noises when you type?
Your mind makes it real.
I don't know how, but after digging in the game's directory, it seems you can actually save three of them. So it's possible.
Steam doesn't really have any good breakthroughs up. I think I might give it a go.
I managed to save the Biker guy by flagging his page on the second day for copyright infringement, which got him banned during the hack.
I tried the same thing with Zach for harassment, but he only got detained so he still died.
I want to save that little bodacious man, but I don't think it's possible
Oooh, banning makes sense. I would think there'd be a way to ban Zane but he got off with a warning on my end
If it's not Zane I can't see who else would be saved either. Roddy maybe if there's more Axxelerator stuff to find but he works for the company so I don't know.
Whoever made that Linkin Park styled song, spot on.
my terminal is laden with viruses, but the banning must continue. cappacash user, harassers, copyright infringers, illegal content, all of it will be destroyed. i hold the hammer, i am the law
fuck you Abby, your first grade class is IN VIOLATION
Beat it last night. The major problem is that the whole moderation aspect feels like it's just there so the game has any gameplay to speak of and when they actually try to have puzzles in them, it's very dependent on guesswork, moon logic or doing the obviously foolish thing.
But overall, I'm walking away thinking Hypnospace Outlaw isn't about the internet but about the era and the people using it. It's about the enthusiasm for the technology, self-expression and tightly-knit communities and movements. It's just such a human game, flawed but sympathetic and refreshingly honest and straightforward in personality.
You mean LSD dream emulator
