Hello everyone,
I was wondering what would be best if I was to create a really really big map with many buildings, items & decorations. So naturally I was looking all over the place to find even the smallest bit of information and also to get more into the hammer tool. In a video someone mentioned that props are one of the easiest ways to place props and also to use prop_static since you could fill a map with those since they use basically no performance on the server. Currently I'm working on a library for a server and I wanted to add a lot of shelfs with all sorts of books and variations to keep it less monotone.
I'm also very interested into turning stuff I made with the hammer tool into props so I can just copy paste them as soon as I'm done designing them in hammer. The shelfs I found look nice and would also kind of suffice but they are all prop_dynamics or prop_physic and prop_static won't work. :/
Perhaps someone also got an easy to understand tutorial to turn models from hammer into props (prop_static). I have found a tutorial but currently couldn't get the time to figure it out and have a go but usually during the weekends I'm up for a lot of tinkering.
Well, I'm not really seeing a question in there, but yes you're on the right track. If you start having problems with limits, don't forget that there are a bunch of tools here on the forums to help with that.
