A step in the right direction. But how good are the chances of Likkud being replaced by a more moderate party, in the end? Considering all that Netanyahu has done, even putting aside the fact he's a criminal, I have trouble seeing him as anything but a hardline far-right politician himself.
This ultimately doesn't matter. They banned a politician, not his party or ideology. His subordinates will win seats and then follow his instructions. Yes actually, Google kahanism. The kahanists want to pay all non Jews to leave Israel. Likud is facing serious competition from Blue and White which is a center right coalition. I think it's most likely that likud and blue and white will form a coalition to control the knesset and that will move Israel's government a little to the left. There being no religious parties in that coalition will also mean that the potential government caters less to religious concerns
