I feel like a 3 year old kid again, it's amazing.
Gonna post the other clips they showed off for good measure.

2020 can't get here fast enough.
It's certainly less dark, gritty and odd than the series began but good grief I love it. It's absolutely the right balance of light-hearted humour without being too wacky, and it's promising to be very dark too. Lovely to see Alf back in action, this seems like a great direction to take the series. I have faith in The Legendary Limitless Luscious Lorne Lanning and the team.
I don't like the design of that train, but that's a nitpick. The Mudokon faces and the Slig flight animations are very fucking nice, though. At first I sort of hated the new Mud face but now I see it in expression it works better for full 3D like this than the older design.
Considering that New n' Tasty made me basically lose hope in the series' future, I actually really love the look of this and I'm interested in the series again.
I really like the way the train slots together actually. Given that it matches the shape of the classic FeeCo trains (with modular crates and carriages behind), it's possible that the big bone buckets could still be attached like in Exoddus' intro. We can't see the Glukkon furnace-eyes in this video, but you may notice that Alf throws the fuel down into a furnace at the front of the train, which is exactly where the eyes would be. In my opinion the team deserve a big bravo for fleshing out the concept in a way that really works, right down to the steps on the front. For comparison's sake:

The chimney also looks like it may now have a Glukkon's face on the front, but it's difficult to tell.
I like the shape of it, I just don't like the overdesigned surface plating is all, it looks a bit too "steampunky" compared to the older OW one being a bit smoother and steampunky. But like I say, total nitpick and doesn't really have any weight even to my own mind.
Yeah, I get you because I feel the same about it. The new style isn't the same type of odd from the Abe games and Steven Olds' + Farzad Varahmyan's artwork. With that said, Stranger's Wrath managed to deviate from that style and look great in its own right, and I recall Lorne saying one of the original artists (might have been Olds? can't remember) is working on Soulstorm, which could explain why they look so similar. So far the game's art direction looks like a good blend of all four original games while moving forward in its own direction, and I am totally on board with that.
(Anyone interested in Oddworld's artwork should check out https://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/togg/ by the way, they have basically all of the art from the first art book along with lots of other bits and bobs.)
I'm still waiting for the art book from the kickstarter
