Washington (CNN) White House lawyers expect to have an opportunity to review whatever version of Robert Mueller's report Attorney General Bill Barr submits to Congress before it
reaches lawmakers and the public, multiple sources familiar with the matter said, setting up a potential political battle over the hotly anticipated document.
The attorneys want the White House to have an opportunity to claim executive privilege over information drawn from documents and interviews with White House officials, the sources
said. The White House's review of executive privilege claims are within its legal purview, but could set up a political battle over the perception President Donald Trump is trying to shield
certain information from the public about an investigation that has swirled around him since the first day of his presidency.
Justice Department lawyers could advise him against certain assertions if they don't feel it's legally defensible. If Trump does assert executive privilege, the decision could be litigated
in court if it's challenged, which Democrats would almost certainly do.
While Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani suggested privilege could be used to keep parts of the report from public view, the issue is up to the White House, not the
President's personal attorneys.
Yeah, how about no.
Trump should find out when it goes public and not a second sooner.
I feel that regardless of content in regards to whether there is any indication of being innocent/guilty, since it is ABOUT Trump and others, they don't deserve early privileges. If it were an aide, or maybe somebody else below the top executive i can imagine the bending of public will to allowing them that. But when the top seat itself is being challenged, yeah no. Not only does it look like horrible PR on their count, but it would strain any privileges they might want to claim later down the line with spending the scant political capital they have right now before the report is read (if found innocent and still in office that is for a "down the line"), long story short, horrible idea no matter what.
He should find out on TV, just like how he fired Comey.
"The report totally clears the President. Thank you Mueller! Very cool!"
"Can we see it?"
"No"
I'm sure they would make copies in any eventuality.

Imagine Trump only finding out that it was released to the public by hearing about it on TV ala the James Comey firing. Oh, the shades of reddish-orange he would turn.
Mueller wont take any chances with this, so good luck squeezing him for something
Surely they can be trusted to just go over it. Its not like they want to edit anything incriminating before its public to save their own asses and discredit the investigation. The same way that they, for an example, have the EPA looking out for the public's interest and totally not spinning bullshit to make dangerous practices that bring in money seem safe.
........Don't let these failures anywhere near this until it's public. Hell, let Trump know the results via Twitter. He loves firing and discrediting people via Twitter as is, so it seems fair.
