Castle Crashers (and when I think about it The Behemoth in general) is one the few games that influences me as a person in general, (next to Facepunch and Garry's Mod) I remember getting this game when I was 12 years old, and I was obsessive with it
I clocked in 9000+ fucking hours into this game (both on my brothers PS3 and on Steam, holy shit I had no life)
I love it to bits, everytime I invited classmates into my house, the first thing I did was to recommend to play CC with each other, and while I had to convinced them because of "the kiddy graphics". We all had a amazing time
I remember loving it so much, I bought a Xbox 360, JUST to play Alien Hominid HD, and that what introduced to me Newsground, which that introduced to me want to learn video game design, animator and art style, it got me interested in the indie scene in general and so much more
I remember, when BBT was released, I got met the devs in PAX, and that alone was a amazing experience, I wish I could post photos, but my mom have it deep in her Facebook somewhere
Ahhhh, just watching this video gives me rushes of feelings, I remember posting on the forums and the checked the blogs almost everyday. That's actually where I met my best friend (and now girlfriend) there
But yeah, I'm so happy, after all these years, The Behemoth is still here, improved and still kicking ass with there local player content and amazing/hilarious games. apparently there getting started on Game 6, which I'm excited
I wonder how well Pit People did, it's one of the few games I bought that Early Access day one, but I never seen much people talk it much
But either way, even through I wish I they added a little bit more content, and even though I beated the game over 50 times, I totally gonna buy this again, twice
I myself used to be a big fan of Newgrounds, long before I heard of the site I had Alien Homind on the original XBox which I absolutely loved. I remember that also had a level builder in a more retro looking style like it was a GameBoy game and that was probably what I spent most of my time doing on that game. I hadn't heard of Newgrounds until a few years after myself but little did I know they made Alien Homind and Castle Crashers. I actually had the demo of Castle Crashers on PS3 but I never got round to playing it unfortunately. If I do get my hands on the remastered Castle Crashers I will probably play it, if only they remastered Alien Homind with the level builder from the XBox version.
Me and two friends did an online playthrough of CC when it came out on steam. We each allocated our stats which gave us designated roles. My friend who played the Red Knight dumped all his points
into attack/magic so his lightning bolts were fucking insane. My other friend played Orange Knight and went full tank, putting almost everything in defense/health. I went Green Knight and distributed my points equally across all stats, which by default made me the fastest guy since I was the only one to put anything into it. It was a fucking awesome time and I can't wait to pick it up again.
God, I remember playing this game on XBL with some people that had hacked accounts, apparently if you push things like the magic stat past its cap it still works as it should, so you get characters like the Bee Keeper guy that could just call in these massive fucking airstrikes that filled the screen with bees. (Worked as earrape, too)
I own the remaster on Xbone, I should really round up a few friends and play it again.
