Damn, the Micro Missiles mod looks beefy as fuck now.
Oh, hmm, I don't know how I feel about that extra life thing now, I hope that can be turned off, when I die I'd like to actually die instead, an instant on the spot full health doesn't please me at all.
Hate to hammer the same nail but...
Doom Eternal on everything... except Steam?
Is there a hardon for everything to not be on Steam?
It will probably be part of the difficulty options I'd imagine.
Is it confirmed not coming to Steam?
Valve makes a bigger profit from sales compared to most of the competitors these days, that and with people like Epic bribing devs to use their platform there's a big shift to move from steam right now whether or not the consumer likes it and it sucks.
It's likely going to be a Bethesda exclusive, not an Epic exclusive.
That wasn't the point I was trying to make but thanks?
I think that's part of Arcade Mode, something that id added in an update to Doom after release.
Chances are you'll be able to do it in story mode same as always.
Not really confirmed, but I'm dead sure Bethesda won't put it on Steam, unless their own platform somehow fucks it up in such a colossal way that they'll lose millions if they don't go back to basics.
Well none of their other games coming out in the near future are.
The consumers could vote with their wallets and show that they do have some power over publishers, but apparently, everyone wants to spend money on useless pixels for their sights and wouldn't mind wasting 60 dollars in games like Anthem and F76.
I hate to say the same as Jim Sterling and complain about triple A games, but there really are games that have no business having the sales they get and cost the price they have, but people still gobble it up. And because of this, publishers will just do whatever they want and tell you that you need their launcher to play a new game by one of their devs.

No i'm not pirating it. All this epic memeshit has killed any interest I had in these titles and that's really saying something for Metro.
I honestly keep forgetting Metro launched. At all. I keep meaning to look into it and get around to playing it, but it's been totally off my radar.
I still have other launcher services on my computer, but fuck if I ever turn any of them on ever unless I'm playing the exclusive games.
Jim Sterling also condoned the epic game store, and for once I agree. I'm sorry, but having your game next to shovelware like "Doomed in space" (Real game I think, or something similar is out there) is kinda terrible. This is the same issue Valve themselves had with Hunt Down the Freeman - how does a consumer not on the up and up know that it's unrelated to the official product? Opening the floodgates in this manner was a complete mistake.
Yeah it's inconvenient to have multiple launchers for games but this is the direction things are going in. Valve shoulden't have just started resting on their laurels here. Granted, Epics playing a bit rough here by giving stores a much better cut but there's nothing say they arn't allowed to do this however this kind of thing was quite a long time coming. Honestly expected GOG to take up the torch though...
No he didn't. Jim Sterling praised the Epic Store and people called him out for it.
Condone, not condemn. I can't stand Jim, but fuck if he isn't right about something for once.
I know people really hate the Epic Store right now for some reason - aside from it scanning your Steam stuff and being *yet another launcher*, I really don't know why but hear me out - if you were Bethesda/id, would you want your game put next to a classic with a very similar name (which may confuse people btw) such as this?

Maybe I should stop posting when I just woke up.
man im so glad they brought Mick Gordon back to keep making the music for this
when?
all I see is him mad about Steam over games nobody could give a damn about and would simply stay in the shadows forever
Like, its such a bulshit thing to care about.
What we have now is an extra layer of greed showing up and taking form, and people can't fight it because they'll say a game like Anthem is a SERIOUS letdown, but still purchase it.
Honestly it just wouldn't feel the same if it wasn't for the man himself doing the score, it'd feel like it's missing something unless someone could replicate his style.
I don't think anyone could just replicate his style. Especially whe. he did things like add edited chainsaw revving and the pentagram for example.
That'd be the concern, Mick Gordon brought something special to DOOM and he's almost required by this point, can't develop a new DOOM game, at least these ones anyway, without ol' Mick.
the doom marine grunts every time hes damaged
Dunno man, those zombies look a lot like doom 3 zombies. Sucks that I'll have to split my game library (although I've been doing this for some time - I actually barely play my games on Steam now) but really, having to open up another launcher is such a non-issue that I don't care.
I'd totally love a bigger cut if I was an indie developer selling my games though. Just saying. I know people are playing anthem (even though the game is clearly not breaking sales projections) so it's a bit too soon to see if this gambit of putting your game on steam's competitors is working out or not.
What? No they don't lol
You might aswell argue about that in a good bunch of games with very similar designs for enemies then. By that logic, any game with pitch black darkness is a Doom3 clone. Any game with plastic looking walls is a Doom3 clone. Any game with people wearing orange jumpsuits is a Doom3 clone. Anything with doom in the title is a Doom clone!
The thing is, the people who've been jumping ship from Steam are probably gonna feel a much bigger blow from leaving Steam to Epic in the long run, and weren't indie devs in the first place.
Imps got their spikey bits back
I have to say after all this Epic bullshit, I care a lot less if Doom is Bethnet only.
Atleast it's their own platform.
Why are you so fixated on the idea of AAA games sharing store space with janky trash? You seem to be putting forward that the idea of someone mistakenly buying the wrong game is at all a possibility.
The only time I can recall Steam has 'confused' consumers is people trying to buy Apex Construct, looking for Apex Legend. That's literally the only time I've heard of this being an issue, and Apex Legends isn't even on the Steam store.
Steam has loads of systems in place to fish out and recommend games to those browsing the store. You know that, right? The chance of some uninformed consumer getting DOOM confused with whatever asset flip trash you're showing off is almost completely nil. It's not a reasonable fear to have. Steam has far too many pro-consumer options for that to be a concern in anyway.
What you're defending is corporate greed, not some natural movement of the market.
I'm more worried about Bethesda Launcher having lackluster features and security issues. Correct me if i'm mistaken, but i can't even set up a 2-step authentification for my account, can I?
