That's a lot of moola, but will it actually be paid back in full? Probably not.
EU hitting the Google money piñata again.
Thank fuck someone is actually doing something. Meanwhile in America we think Anti-Trust is a dirty word.
The year is 2035 and the European Union is entirely funded with fines from Google.
I mean it's insane to me, but I honestly don't think these fines, even though they're literally billions of Euros, are doing enough.
Once again Google are clearly factoring fines into their business model, probably because they stand to make more money than they lose. What a ridiculous situation. Can it be resolved simply by fining them even more?
The year is 2040. Google: We're buying the EU.
i wonder if there's a threat of the EU fining Epic for the snooping their client has done
I got this:
Funny thing is that I've never believed this tinfoil sh%t untile one time I was talking on the phone about my friend Cosmo, just his nickname but w/e. And hours after that I've started to get this ad about some "Cosmo phone" sh%t on the Instagram. That experience was like waking after a party night and finding your wallet empty
The other day I stopped at the pier after work for 10 minutes, afterward I was seeing fishing/outdoorsman ads everywhere.
This is completely normal if you let Google voice assistant (and other related settings) to be on.
Not to entirely defend Google, but you can configure your privacy settings a lot, to fit one's preference.
Like Google likes to put it, you'll just see "more things that might interest you" or something along these lines, but you can disable most of it.
Obviously, at some point it no longer becomes financially viable. The question is whether the EU will push it to that point or not. As it currently stands, probably not.
