https://news.sky.com/story/brexit-military-steps-up-preparations-in-case-of-no-deal-11671941 The armed forces have activated a team in a nuclear-proof bunker under the Ministry of Defence as the government prepares next Monday to enter "very high readiness mode" for a no-deal Brexit, Sky News can reveal.
we dont have to fucking do this why are we fucking doing this oh my gOD
If you have to resort to such measures to deal with the consequences of an action that is so easily avoided, you know you're making a mistake.
god fuck it, there's only so many times i can say "at least we don't have trump!" to try and hide my crippling disappointment with this country
Trump is around for a maximum of 8 years, and he didn't pull his country out of a major trading bloc - he stayed in and renegotiated it. I'm afraid we take the idiot cake in this case (and eat it). 😕
From first world to third world in one night. I feel bad for the remainer Brits if this comes to pass.
you know its kind of terrifying to think that britain, a nuclear state is preparing for total anarchy, and our president is cheering it on.
Because none of your parties have the fuckin guts to take one for the country. I see people say all the the time that it'd be "political suicide" if they just called the whole thing off. From my outsiders perspective though I'd consider the party willing to risk it all to end this fuckin shitshow to be a party worth supporting and applauding. Governments love to applaud the self-sacrifice of their constituents but when a event happens where one of the options is for them to do the same they'd rather leisurely drive on the highway to hell.
I don't get it. How do they think they'll ever get away with creating a national emergency as party policy? Thatcher broke my country and the Midlands/North but it wasn't a one-sided thing. There was at least an argument to be made that other people were at work. This is all modern Tory insanity, with absolutely no basis in evidence that Britain will ever be better off. The very fact that realistic calls for a Welsh referendum are now coming and the nationalist anti-union parties are growing is paving our path to come. I hope Wales and Scotland rejoin the EU in the future, as strange as it may seem to oppose Brexit but be pro-separatism.
This is how the sun sets on the British Empire.
