Former Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort might be trying to pull off a financial scam from his jail cell, prosecutors say.
Manafort will be serving 7.5 years in prison after being convicted in two separate trials. Among the charges were bank fraud and money laundering. He may be at it again, using a
mysterious company named "Woodlawn LLC," which was registered in Nevada in 2017.
The company claims it gave Manafort a $1 million mortgage loan two years ago, and is demanding that the loan be paid back from Manafort's restitution for his crimes.
In a court filing Saturday, prosecutors say they're not sure the loan really existed. They also can't verify who owns Woodlawn - and whether the company is anyone but Manafort
himself. Despite being registered in Nevada, the company does not have any physical address. The justice department says it will seek more evidence in the case.
They really need to fix whatever loopholes allow the creation of companies with no trail to whomever created it.
You just don't know when to quit now do you Paulie?
What the fuck, I read Nevada as Nvidia and was extremely confused for a moment
you say loophole but I see feature.
This clown just can't help himself, can he? Even from a friggin' cell, he just can't stay out of trouble.
Don't worry guys, he's lead an otherwise blameless life
They won't because many of the people in charge of fixing it use those loopholes.
it's like he literally can't help himself from committing crimes
Trump is a compulsive liar, Manafort is apparently a compulsive criminal.
