state of play? more like state of vr
waste of time
it was literally nothing, ho lee fuck
Wait, that's it?
I'll be sad if this stretch of trailers replaces E3.
Did we really just revive FNAF.
Man, Sony is pushing PSVR hard.
wow it's fucking nothing
I mean, we're getting a space exploration game with full VR support. That's a pretty big deal, and its free too. One of the more popular PSVR tech demos is getting a full fledged game as well, so again pretty big. It wasn't 'nothing'; it was just a list of major updates and announcements for games we already knew about. Similar to Nintendo Direct.
People would riot if that was the content of a Nintendo Direct...
Even Nindies direct which was last week was better, holy fuck
Well that was disappointing.
even more disappointing than the content is that there was such little context established for what they did show. imo that's one of the better parts of the nintendo directs; they'll show a little trailer at first, and then spend about 20 more seconds describing the game with appropriate B-roll. They barely did that in this entire thing, like I would have loved to hear whatever that Devolver game is on the space station. And when they did attempt to do so they didn't really pull it off - like what the fuck was that days gone bit? describe some elite enemy with fucking 2 seconds of footage? ????? at least take notes on what those nintendo directs were if you're going to so blatantly copy it, Sony. jfc
Imitation without inspiration, basically no content besides maybe Observation and Concrete Genie that wasn't expounding upon previous announcements, the FNAF fad is pretty dry now and a VR remake of that isn't exactly inspiring when it looks like shit, and there wasn't any depth or actual care to this thing. Plus the absolute tonedeaf nature of going from all these fairly E for Everyone games with a T or M along the way that didn't get too into gore at all, to f-bombs and explicit lyrics alongside detailed gore shots in the MK11 trailer. This was Sony's first shot at this and it shows. That was pretty fucking terrible and underwhelming.
As someone who got a PSVR during that black friday deal, I'm glad to see they're still doing stuff for it. Really wish we got more Death Stranding info though.
jesus christ people will complain about absolutely anything these days
Aw shit, CTR: Re-Fueled is getting Crash Nitro Kart courses. (And "retro" skins for some characters on PS4 only)
Well that's good news at least, I was hoping that CNK's content would be part of it. That explains the "Nitro-Fueled" subtitle, which I half-suspected would be the case. I'm hoping we get the full campaign and all the tracks/characters. As for the retro skins being PS4-exclusive: fair enough. The original was a PS1 game, so they can have that as their throwback. As for the rest: hah. Fifteen years of posturing themselves above Nintendo for not having "worthless gimmicks and waggle" and now they're slobbering over PSVR as hard as they can. Keep on riding that fad, boyos.
The VR is also for the Steam as well.
