That point about not wanting amazon to get in on it because they didn't want jibo to manipulate people is pretty deep when you think about it. Social robots are going to become a thing, but some of them will have secret agendas programmed in, whether that be to get you to buy things or to believe certain things. I hope people continue to take the non-manipulation route for social robots, despite jibo's failure as a company.
