Star Wars Battlefront II: Capital Supremacy - Community Update

This game has actually become probably my favourite console shooter now. It still has problems(mostly in regards to heroes) but it's very satisfying to play, and I find that there are rarely any players blatantly dominating a round, unlike most other shooters(COD and BFV in particular).
Even before the update DICE was trying to fix shit and as far as I can remember it was wayy better than it's initial launch by a huge margin now people aren't briefing with the best star cards or buying out gear.
According to Dennis, the lead Designer, the Clone Wars season was planned to be out early last year (even before the 'Solo' update), but the launch era fiasco with the MTX/Lootboxes caused them to delay almost everything.
I said this in the main thread but this is the mode the game should have launched with. Not galactic assault.
It's nice to see that they've been making all of these updates, but even with everything they've added so far, I still find it to be completely underwhelming compared to the early 2000s titles. It just doesn't have enough, and doesn't capture the best parts of the old games. It's not even on the same level of Battlefield 5.
I really wish they focused on embellishing the sandbox instead of restricting it with cutscenes and linearity. I'd much rather actually board the ships manually.
Too bad all these updates are coming so late, when so many people had given up.
Imagine if it was like Battlefield 2142, where you need to rocket up to the ship... man that would be fun as fuck.
Is the game really dead though? The fact that it's a modern star wars game sounds like it would have quite a bit of staying power by default and from what I've checked of the subreddit, it seems to be just as active as any other currently ongoing MP game.
It's not dead at all, you can find a game for any mode with ease.
no its not dead, but its one of those 'could have been so much more popular' games if not for the terrible introduction to it, and honestly it still feels like a sort of pity update cycle because they 'promised' these, but its chugging on
who knows when EA will give it the axe though and force more over to bf5 or a new title
I'm not sure if I'm the only one but even with these updates I refuse to buy the game on principle.
You should praise someone when they fix their mistakes.
I don't consider it as fixing a mistake as much as it was backpedaling because it actually affected them.
Pretty much everyone on the team is passionate about star wars. I wasn't there around launch but from what I've seen the past months, the small team we have always wants to improve the game. It's too bad you see it as backpedaling because we do want to make a fun game
They've been putting it on sale for ridiculously cheap, like $10 for the deluxe(or ultimate, I forget) I think, so it has a pretty good playerbase, or at least on PS4 anyway.
The new game mode is crazy fun, probably the most fun I've had with the game since launch, and the new Infiltrator units are unbelievably good(yet well balanced as well since I have no problem defeating enemy ones).
Would've been cool if there could be some interaction between the capital ships. With an expanded player count having ship to ship combat above the battlefield
Do we have droideka yet.
A neat idea would be to merge Starfighter assault with Capital Supremacy where you defend transports raiding the enemy ship while taking out the shields or AA guns. Each side has either infinite or 3 tries to take out the interior hard points to blow it all up. Bonus points if after the match the raiders can get to their ships on time to retreat ala Titanfall 2 multiplayer.
