This thread is for discussion of all Games-Workhop related products, such as W40K and Warhammer fantasy/Age of Sigmar, including the Roleplaying games. Warhammer 40,000 (also known as Warhammer 40K or simply 40K) is a tabletop miniature wargame produced by Games Workshop, set in a dystopian science fantasy universe.

Lots of useful painting tutorials here
You can find plenty of after action reports or other tutorials on YouTube.
If you want to buy models, check with your local gaming store. They can often order them for you cheaper than buying from GW yourself.

While this is related to Age of Sigmar, with hopefully some slaanesh cultists/ Aelves coming with it, might this be a sign for Emperor's Children to rear their beautiful heads?
Age of Titties it is, then?
They did allude to Fulgrim, along with Lorgar and Petuarabo, being active post Rift. I'd like to see him come back. Might make a good opposite to The Lion, excess versus stocism
Nitpick: Abaddon wasn't invented until the mid-90's.
Original Jes Goodwin sketch from 1995 below. Apparently he thought up a name for the new character and it just stuck. The rest soon followed.

There's been rumors of evil aelves coming so it's quite possible.

god this is a really nice model
After dragging my feet for a month and a half, I finally got my Death Korps heavy weapons teams done.

Bought Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 while it was on sale, it's pretty damn fun. Hard as fuck, but fun. Really captures a lot of what I've read in my 40k manga's Horus Heresy books.
Oh shit I didn't even notice it came out, I preordered it last year and completely forgot about it
It's really hard to find people actually talking about the game so this isn't very surprising. I was waffling on it but decided to take the plunge because decent 40k games are so few and far between.

I asked last thread if anybody knew how GW paints brass/bronze , and somebody asked for an example

Kinda like how all the blades of khorne stuff is done, I can't replicate this effect and it's frustrating me so much that I'm kinda considering learning and doing everything non metallic
Citadel Paint App has the answers you need.

With due respect - don't listen to Kartoffel here. Modern GW gold paints have worked terribly for me if you want a nice thick yellow gold rather then either a brass gold or an almost white gold. I heavily recommend Vallejo's golds. You can even get some in a nice 20ml pot.
One thing to take note of though, according to the instructions - and smell of it - this paints deluded in alcohol. Now I have had no problem using brushes that are cleaned in water and diluting the paint on a pallet with water, but it warns not to do this because it may rust. So make sure your brush isn't wet when you are using it, and just kinda be careful. Also do dilute/clean with alcohol if this is an option. This paint is still wonderful, very reminiscent of the old Burnished Gold paint which you could paint directly onto the mini after priming. So if you're an Ork player like myself who enjoys giving their Elite/Heavy Supports some golden weapons to fit with a Blood Axe/Freeboota/Bad moon scheme, this is kinda necessary.
@Task Manager Definitely go with Vallejo's paints, they're better than GW's. I use the citadel paint app for general formulas and such, but then generally use an equivalent Vallejo paint. They're cheaper too.

Do they have Carrot Orange?
Half making an avatar joke (it's legendary) and half asking for my fathers space wolf army.
Also any tips on painting human faces? Painting Ork faces is often easy if you even wish to bother for it, especially Nobz because theirs are bigger - green it, then maybe paint the teeth yellow and dot the eyes a red. Human faces? No zoggin clue.
Don't know of any good orange colors off the top of my head, but I'm going to my hobby store probably this week so I can scout a good carrot orange for you.
Haven't switched over to Vallejo paints for flesh yet, but my general formula is Bugman's glow for the base layer, wash Reikland Fleshshade, layer with Cadian fleshtone while leaving the lower lip Bugman's glow, and then highlight with Kislev Flesh. I used that technique for my officer here:

@God of the Grove VMC Light Orange is a very carrot-y color. Be warned, the coverage is as poor as you would expect from a light orange paint.
Also, which golds are you guys using from the Vallejo line? I've found that the VMC metallics are awful; the Metal Color line is fantastic but the only gold in that line is more of a brassy color.
The "Liquid gold" was the one I was describing earlier. I'll repeat that they want you to clean brushes with alcohol when using it to avoid rust. So if you're going to be like me and ignore it (cuzzimean what could possibly go wrong) then make sure your brush isn't completely moist or anything. I haven't had anything weird happen like the paint rusting as I dilute it (not that I have to - stuffs pretty diluted as is yet has great coverage!)
Even if you aren't thinning them you'll inevitably need to add more alcohol to any paint you've poured out due to how quickly alcohol evaporates. If you're just sitting there with the pot open you're in for a very short lifespan on that pot.
Really I get the idea that the biggest no-no is using alcohol paint (like Liquid Gold) with a wet pallet. Kinda figure that would mess shit up
Oh yeah, I've heard great stuff about the Liquid Gold.
By the way (also @Anderan ) rubbing alcohol is kind of a waste in this application- bottom-shelf vodka is cheaper by unit volume and is a good ratio of ethanol:water for dilution. You can use it with regular acrylics (mostly useful for airbrushes) to reduce drying time.
You only need a few drops so even a bottle of rubbing alcohol will last for ages. It's not that much of a cost drain to worry about being super cost effective.
Suuper late but my go-to is Balthasar gold -> Agrax -> Stormhost silver highlights.

I've used Vallejo metal color "gunmetal black" on a wet pallette, mixing with other acrylic metal colours, and this didn't rust for me. Or am I talking about somethign different?
Gunmetal is part of a different range.
Liquid Gold is a range of alcohol based metallic colors for figu..
