by law medicaid is supposed to be about providing medical coverage to the poor and disabled, that's it. They are not the department of commerce, and the vast majority of medicaid recipients either are working very low wage jobs or can't work because of their disability. There's so many requirements to even get on medicaid and stay on it, the idea that people don't work just to stay on it is far fetched, and if one is seriously concerned then maybe we should actually provide everyone with healthcare so then nobody can freeload anyways
