Just to be clear, this doesn't capture consecutive frames in real time, right? As in, they're firing the pulse say, 50 times, and each time the camera is timed to take a picture +1/nth of a second later, no?
It's effectively 10 trillion FPS, but it only works with picosecond laser pulses and a special sensor that captures line by line. Basically, it won't work on anything other than picosecond laser pulses. It's so different from regular cameras, it's almost incomparable.
when they get the quadrillion fps camera working, they're going to be able to peer at the origin of time itself - the ukulele guy
