Perfect thumbnail.
I thought he was put into confinement for ripping someone's ear off and shanking them 50 times in a row or something.
Yeah but what's worse? Shkreli being put in solitary or all the other prisoners having to spend time with Shkreli.
Agreed but, in fairness, if they can't manage to keep him from running shit from behind bars the only thing to ensure he doesn't is to remove him entirely from being able to be communicated to. That said, just to reaffirm my agreement: solitary is an evil and wicked torture device whose only purpose is to damage people's brains and cause them immense harm from which they're not guaranteed to ever recover. Jails are not hell. The Jailers are not devils. The prison cells are not torture chambers. The prisoners are not sinful wicked people who deserve hellfire and eternal punishment. The purpose of a prison is to rehabilitate people -- to take away from them their evils and allow them a path to be reintroduced into society. If you disagree with that then you disagree with the rule of law that we all agreed as a society to back ourselves to when the Wild West ended -- specifically because the transfer of power from men who held guns to the law was to ensure that justice was equal and fair and that the punishment was not certain to be possibly death for any offense whatsoever. If you don't believe people can be rehabilitated then you believe people must be killed and removed from society -- and that's not a view that gels with society in general, especially if you think that a man who smoked a joint-too-large deserves just as much eternal damnation as the man who ordered a whole town to be burnt to the ground with all its occupants nailed to the walls inside their houses.
They shouldn't keep prisoners in that prison who require something akin to solitary confinement*.
oh man for a memetastic edgelord who lives off human interaction this has got to be torture.
No he is not
I'm happy that at least one rich asshole isn't above the law.
I totally forgot about the ol shkrellini, good to see he's keeping himself busy with his favorite hobby, breaking the law.
I really dislike Shkreli and everything that he's about, but nobody deserves solitary confinement
A SHU is not solitary confinement, it is a smaller unit that is separated from GP but inmates are not locked up alone
I'm sure solitary is better than the annoying ghost of a recently deceased Shkreli berating you for being worse at beating him to death than the 5th graders when he was in school.
I think Shkreli is an arrogant piece of shit but the use of solitary confinement is unacceptable.
i find it really ironic that in a section called 'sensationalist headlines' most people (myself included) are guilty of only reading the headline before posting
Ok doesn't change the fact that a SHU is not solitary confinement. Ive worked on a SHU company.
I never said it did? I'm agreeing with you...
I used to work in a jail. Let me tell you, solitary confinement is usually a prison or jail last resort. Why you ask? Because it is fucking expensive and less efficient means of running a correctional facility. Generally speaking, they cost more to maintain, you have to have the correct staffing, housing a inmate costs more in them, and generally speaking they eat up a lot of time. Prisons want max efficiency with the minimum amount of money spent. Solitary confinement is counter-opposite of that means. Violent offenders should be in them. Why? Because it is easier to control a violent outburst and it is safer for staff to do a cell extraction out of a solitary confinement unit. You do not keep violent people in GP. Simple as that. When you go into a housing unit Some people even though nonviolent get put into them. Why? Because even though the inmates behavior is nonviolent, it is a detriment to security of the facility. Solitary confinement can be utilized as a form of punishment for inmates who continue to rack up offenses while in jail or prison. Solitary confinement can be utilized as a form of protective custody. I've had to take child sex offenders into PC due to the fact their case made the TV and inmates wanted to kill said sex offender. Solitary confinement can be utilized for medical segregation. Want to prevent an entire housing unit from getting a contagion? Put them in a solitary cell so they can be cared for by medical staff. Inmate has some type of illness or disease which puts him at risk in a housing unit, you segreate him. (These cells are usually equipped with a way to create pressure so that the air stays in and is vented out). Believe it or not, there are some people that actually prefer solitary confinement and do shit to get confined because they feel safer. Solitary confinement as cruel as it is, is a necessary tool. You take that away and you have a lot of issues. You want these cells to go away? Then the entire system needs to be changed. Which I'm not arguing against, it is just at the current state of things these cells are important tools. With growing staffing shortages in prisons, longer hours worked person guard, it makes a deadly job even more deadly. Staff shortages generally lead to higher rates of violence/assaults prisons. Solitary cells become even more valuable tools. In the case of Shkreli he continued to defy the system and disregard his sentence. He is continuing to run his business inside of prison. He is a fucking idiot and is undermining the jail staff. So obviously they're going to put him in a cell, he is a high profile case and his behavior can easily encourage others to misbehave. But, he did this to himself. If was going to do what he was doing he should have been playing it off low-key and not talking shit on social media from prison.
Wait, is pretending Shkreli is Rorschach a meme now? I'm out of the loop.
Hell yeahthey should cutt off his balls
They're poking fun at the guy's massively inflated ego
Who's that?

"D'oh!"
Woah, movie night! Kind of like that, but less menacing in an obviously fake way, and much more talkative. Like Bugs Bunny taunting the hunter.
Off topic, but make sure you check the original graphic novel as well, it's great.
how many are there? and where can I get them
Just the one, Watchmen by Alan Moore. Any large chain bookstore should have it, I think. It's available on Amazon from what I've seen. Though personally I've read a .cbr I found online.
hmm maybe I can find it here, we got a pretty wide store, will have a look at it
