I'm so glad I backed this, they've come such a long way since Nitronic Rush
I'm super happy they're continuing to support the game after release. Such a great little gem of a game, really underrecognized too.
I played nitronic rush so much, and distance turned out to be just absolutely perfect. I'm glad they took their time, and honestly wish they'd release some kind of dlc so I can give these guys more cash.
sooooo.... PS4 release when?
Counting 2018 as its actual year of release since that's when it exited Early Access, I think I'd actually put Distance as my GotY 2018. The only thing that comes anywhere near it - of what I'd been able to afford in 2018, anyway - is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I just love a good driving game, especially futuristic ones. There's Distance now, and a few years ago there were Mario Kart 8 and FAST Racing NEO on Wii U, both of which have gotten Switch ports if you wanna look into them nowadays (I was actually hoping Distance would hit Wii U at one point, for WIi Wheel compatibility and potentially having the car display on the GamePad, but I'd still be down with a Switch release), and before those I was big on TrackMania for a while. I'd like to get into beamNG.drive some more, but my current rig can barely handle it.
(I think the FP database glitched out.)
The switch generally needs more quality racing games. Trackmania Turbo and Distance would be perfect for it coz I can just whip that shit out and play a track or two and then just get back to whatever I'm doing.
TrackMania could work on Switch. I was hoping we'd see one on the Wii U, but we got one on the original Wii at least, as well as a couple on DS (one of them actually being called "TrackMania Turbo" years before the PS4/Xbone game, though was based on Forever like the Wii one, rather than TM2). Having that touchscreen would make track editing a breeze, even if on Switch you could only use it in handheld mode.
I'm honestly shocked it doesn't seem right that they haven't announced a Switch release of this to be honest. It's a nice game to throw a few tracks behind when you're bored and feels slick as fuck. It's also a decent couch game for when a mate is round. I should probably get back around to playing this a bit, I've missed the last few major updates.
Oh, also, April Fool's Day gave us this update a little later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXi3g7d8RHo It's an actually playable version of their April Fool's video from three years ago. It's still available in the cheats menu now too, even though the event is over.
